Method for printing on containers
A method comprising printing multicolored images on containers includes providing overall-image data, extracting partial-image data from the overall-image data, print-head-specific calibration-data for the print heads, using the partial-image data and the first print-head-specific calibration-data for calculating print-head image-data for each print head, and causing the print heads to print corresponding partial images on containers, each partial image corresponding to one of the colors in the multicolored images.
Scanner approximation of an in-line spectrophotometer (ILS) in duplex systems
A color management system acquires first color data for a color patch of a test pattern printed by a first image forming device on a recto side of a sheet, acquires second color data for the color patch in the test pattern printed by the first image forming device; and acquires third color data for a corresponding color patch in the test pattern printed by a second image forming device on a recto side of a sheet which has passed through the first image forming device. The system applies a correction to the third color data, which is a function of a difference between the first color data and the second color data and which may also be a function of a difference between the second color data and the third color data.

One embodiment of the present invention is an information processing apparatus including: a first acquisition unit configured to acquire a color developing characteristic in image printing by a first printing apparatus; a second acquisition unit configured to acquire a color developing characteristic in image printing by a second printing apparatus; a table generation unit configured to generate a color matching table used in a case where color matching is performed between the first printing apparatus and the second printing apparatus based on the acquired color developing characteristic of the first printing apparatus and the acquired color developing characteristic of the second printing apparatus; a third acquisition unit configured to acquire a line width characteristic of the first printing apparatus.
Color table compression
A memory device includes a compressed color table and corrective information. The compressed color table includes a first set of nodes of the color table compressed with a lossy compression at a selected compression ratio. The first set of nodes include a color difference within an error threshold at the selected compression ratio. Corrective information is included for a second set of nodes of the color table. The second set of nodes have a color difference outside the error threshold.
Methods, systems and devices for automated cost based color profiling of inkjet printers
A system, device and method for managing colors of a color printer in accordance with predetermined ink usages and cost objectives. Profiles comprising a corresponding set of job parameters are collected having an ink usage that satisfies a predetermined cost objective for the print job. Sheets are printed out in accordance with these acceptable profiles for proofing by a customer for image quality and selection of a profile to be used for the print job.
Correction coefficient calculation unit, image conversion unit, color correction device, display device, correction coefficient calculation method, and program
A correction coefficient calculation unit including a reference image output unit that generates a reference image, a profile receiving unit that receives image information and printing information, the image information indicating a color characteristic related to an image to be displayed on a display unit, the printing information indicating a color characteristic related to a printing device, and a reference image division unit that creates printing characteristic data that associates the reference image with the reference image that has undergone color conversion based on the printing information and the image information.
Spectral characteristic obtaining apparatus, image forming apparatus, and image forming system
A spectral characteristic obtaining apparatus includes a color information obtaining unit including a plurality of spectral sensors aligned in an array direction, the spectral sensors being configured to receive light reflected from an object so as to obtain first color information of the object; a spectral characteristic calculating unit configured to estimate a spectral characteristic of the object based on the first color information by using a preset transformation matrix; a calibration color index configured to include a region of a color with a known spectral characteristic; and a transformation matrix calibrating unit configured to calibrate the transformation matrix by using second color information obtained from the calibration color index, wherein the spectral sensors are configured to obtain the second color information from the same region included in the calibration color index, while relative positions thereof with respect to the calibration color index are changed at a time of calibration.
DETERMINING METHOD OF DENSITY CORRECTION VALUE, PRINTING APPARATUS, PRINTING METHOD, AND METHOD OF CORRECTING PRINTING DENSITY
A density correction value determining method of correcting a printing density in a printing apparatus that performs printing by ejecting ink from a plurality of nozzles onto a medium, includes printing a test pattern by ejecting ink from the plurality of nozzles, acquiring captured image data by imaging printed test pattern, calculating a first density correction value for bringing the printing density closer to a predetermined reference value set when one raster is formed by ejecting ink from each single nozzle of the plurality of nozzles based on a density of acquired captured image data, and calculating a second density correction value for bringing the printing density closer to a predetermined reference value set when one raster is formed by combining different nozzles of the plurality of nozzles based on the calculated first density correction value.
DIGITAL SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PAINT COLOR MATCHING
A method includes obtaining first color information for each of a plurality of first samples of a first target color with a color measurement device connected to a computing device including a display. A digital color image of at least one first target color is displayed on the display. An offset value for each first target color is determined such that the digital color image of each first target color matches the corresponding first target color on each of the first samples. A second sample including a second target color is scanned to obtain second color information. A processor of the computing device determines, using the offset values of the first target colors, an interpolated offset for the display such that the digital image of the second target color matches the second target color.
