LASER DEVICE FOR DERMOCOSMETIC TREATMENTS AND TRACING KIT
A method of dermocosmetic treatment for skin tissue includes a plurality of treatment laser light sources which are in communication with a rectangular-shaped optical fiber; the optical fiber includes a proximal end to receive laser light from the plurality of treatment laser light sources and a distal end to transmit overlapping laser light to the area of skin tissue to be treated; the plurality of treatment of laser light sources are activated to impinge one or more rectangular-shaped laser light images within one or more rectangular-shaped areas.
SMALL OPTICAL CORE HYBRID FIBER FOR SURGICAL LASER PROCEDURES SUCH AS LASER LITHOTRIPSY THAT UTILIZE HOLMIUM YAG LASERS AND/OR THULIUM FIBER LASERS
A surgical laser fiber for use in surgical laser procedures such as laser lithotripsy includes a relatively small diameter silica core surrounded by a thin intermediate doped silica cladding and a relatively thick outer glass cladding or ferrule surrounding the thin intermediate doped silica cladding, with the result that erosion of the fiber is primarily confined to the silica core, causing the relatively thick outer glass cladding or ferrule to form a standoff that extends beyond the eroded end of the silica core as lasing proceeds. The diameter of the silica core may be approximately 80 m and a thickness of the outer glass cladding may be approximately 200 m. The surgical laser fiber may be used with Thulium Fiber Lasers, or may be adapted for use with both Thulium Fiber Lasers and Holmium YAG lasers.
Optical fiber connector and adapter
Certain embodiments disclosed herein provide systems and devices for coupling optical fibers with laser surgical systems. In particular, certain aspects provide a push-pull connector and adapter for releasably coupling an optical fiber with a port of a laser surgical system. The connector and adapter facilitate mechanical lateral and rotational guidance of the optical fiber during insertion into the port to ensure proper alignment (e.g., clocking) of the optical fiber's cores with a laser beam pattern propagated by the laser surgical system. Accordingly, the connector and adaptor enable improved coupling efficiency between the laser beam pattern and one or more cores of the optical fiber, and therefore improved power uniformity between multiple laser beams transmitted through the cores.
