APPARATUS, SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR USING A UNIVERSAL CONTROLLING DEVICE FOR DISPLAYING A GRAPHICAL USER ELEMENT IN A DISPLAY DEVICE
An apparatus, system and method is described for controlling one or more consumer electronic devices that is performed by a smart device. The smart device causes one or more graphical elements, each for performing a particular operation to be displayed. The smart device then causes an action to be performed when the user selects one of the graphical elements, for example by pressing one of the keys on the universal controlling device or by speaking a command.
TELEVISION AND SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING A REMOTE CONTROL DEVICE
A television and system and method for providing a remote control device are disclosed. In one embodiment of the television, the television includes a processor, a memory, a tuner, a panel, and an audio driver therein in an interconnected architecture. The television may establish a pairing with a proximate wireless-enabled interactive programmable device, such as a proximate wireless-enabled interactive handheld device having a touch screen display, whereby formatted parallel audiovisual experience instructions, including virtual buttons, may be transmitted to the proximate wireless-enabled interactive programmable device for display on the touch screen display to create an experience parallel to the experience on the television. The television receives and processes virtual remote control functionality input instructions from the proximate wireless-enabled interactive programmable device to control amenities associated with the television.
SET TOP/BACK BOX, SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING A REMOTE CONTROL DEVICE
A set top/back box and system and method for providing a remote control device are disclosed. In one embodiment, one or more wireless transceivers are located within a housing, which also interconnectively includes television input/output, a processor, and memory. The set top/back box may establish a pairing with a programmable device, such as a proximate wireless-enabled interactive handheld device having a touch screen display, whereby formatted parallel audiovisual experience instructions, including virtual buttons, may be transmitted to the programmable device for display on the touch screen display to create an experience parallel to the experience on the television. The set top/back box receives and processes virtual remote control functionality input instructions from the programmable device to control amenities associated with the set top/back box.
Electronic apparatus, remote control apparatus, control method thereof, and electronic system
An electronic apparatus is provided. The electronic apparatus includes: a storage configured to store control code sets corresponding to each of a display apparatus and one or more external electronic apparatuses providing contents to the display apparatus; a communicator comprising communication circuitry configured to communicate with the display apparatus and a remote control apparatus; and a processor configured to determine a source apparatus, providing a content that is currently displayed on the display apparatus, of the display apparatus and the one or more external electronic apparatuses, and controlling the communication circuitry of the communicator to transmit a control code set corresponding to the determined source apparatus to the remote control apparatus.
System for Controlling Display Device on Basis of Identified Capture Range
To provide a display control system in which a terminal device and a display device operate in tandem. The display control system comprises a terminal device 10 having an image-capture unit, a display device 50 for displaying video, and a control device 20 for controlling the display device 50. The terminal device 10 or the control device 20 identifies a capture range in video displayed by the display device 50 on the basis of an image captured by the image-capture unit. The control device 50 controls the display state of the video displayed by the display device 50 on the basis of the identified capture range. This configuration allows for interactive special effects such as making an object in the capture range of the terminal device 10 disappear from the video or making objects in the capture range of the terminal device 10 appear in the video.
Services over wireless communication with high flexibility and efficiency
Generally, according to aspects of the present invention, a media content item may be casted by a user equipment (UE) to another UE over a local area network (LAN). The UE (cast device) may cast a local media content item stored on the cast device to said another UE (media playback device) by streaming the local media content item to the media playback device over the LAN, so that the media playback device may play back the local media content item. The cast device may cast an online media content item stored on a remote server to the media playback device by causing the server to stream the online media content item to the media playback device over the Internet, so that the media playback device may play back the online media content item. Various embodiments of the present invention provide great efficiency and flexibility in such cast of a media content item from a UE to another UE.
Real-time scene creation during use of a control device
Provided is a system and method for creating a configuration for a plurality of devices. The method includes monitoring user interaction with a control device to control each of the plurality of devices, recording, while monitoring the user interaction with the control device, at least one configuration setting based on at least one user input provided to the control device, in response to further user input, storing the at least one configuration setting in at least one memory of the control device, associating a plurality of configuration settings with a scene object, the plurality of configuration settings comprising the at least one configuration setting, and in response to activation of the scene object via the control device, transmitting a plurality of control signals, the plurality of control signals based on the plurality of configuration settings and configured to control the plurality of devices.
AUTOMATIC SCREEN NAVIGATION FOR MEDIA DEVICE CONFIGURATION AND CONTROL
Methods, systems, and apparatuses are described for automatically navigating a graphical user interface (GUI) of a media device. In embodiments, objects (e.g. selectable items) in device GUI menu screens may be located, identified, and selected by another device (e.g., a switch) using several types of image processing, image recognition, and automated screen navigation techniques. For instance, a device may receive an operation request, for example from a user, receive a video signal from the connected media device, extract a video frame, process the video frame using one or more algorithms, and automatically navigate the GUI of the device by transmitting one more navigation commands for application to the GUI. In this manner, multi-step, time-consuming manual GUI navigation to achieve a desired result may be reduced to an automated technique, allowing users to save time and frustration in navigating a GUI using a remote control to find a particular resource.
System and method for flexible configuration of a controlling device
A system and method whereby an user interface editing device is used to create a user interface for a controlling device, the created user interface including user interface elements that are associated with functional operations of a virtual equivalent of an appliance. After the created user interface is transferred to the controlling device, the virtual equivalent of an appliance is caused to be linked to an intended target appliance whereupon activation of those user interface elements of the graphical user interface that were associated with functional operations of the virtual equivalent of an appliance will cause the controlling device to transmit commands to control corresponding functional operations of the intended target appliance.
Terminal Interaction Method and Terminal
A terminal interaction method includes establishing, by a first terminal, a connection to at least one second terminal using a BLUETOOTH component, and obtaining location information of the second terminal; when the first terminal points to a direction of a second terminal, identifying, by the first terminal, the second terminal based on the location information and the direction to which the first terminal currently points; and when the first terminal performs a first action, sending, by the first terminal, a first message to the second terminal based on the first action, where the first message indicates the second terminal to perform a first function, and the first function is in a one-to-one correspondence with the first action.
