An Intelligent Television provides unique user interfaces and user interface interactions to provide social media. The interfaces and interface are intuitive and allow the user to quickly retrieve and view social media with respect to content displayed on the Intelligent Television. Further, intuitive user interface interactions are provided to allow for the quick and efficient posting of social media from the Intelligent Television to a social media site.

A portable apparatus to provide a screen capturing function, when a display unit of the apparatus displays moving pictures on a display panel thereof, includes a button signal input unit to receive a button signal inputted by a user; a picture capturing unit to capture individual pictures of the moving pictures, when the inputted button signal is determined to be a first button signal; a thumbnail creating unit to create thumbnails of the captured pictures, the thumbnails being sequentially arranged on a predetermined portion of the display panel; and a screen recording button located on an exterior of the portable apparatus to generate the first button signal.

Provided are an image display apparatus and a method of controlling the same. The image display apparatus enabling voice recognition includes: a first voice inputter which receives a user-side audio signal; an audio outputter which outputs an audio signal processed by the image display apparatus; a first voice recognizer which recognizes the user-side audio signal received through the first voice inputter; and a controller which decreases a volume of the audio signal output through the audio outputter to a predetermined level if a voice recognition start command is received.

An intelligent television and methods for user interaction between the intelligent television and the user are provided. In general, a user is provided with navigation, notification, and setup options which enable one or more functions associated with the intelligent television. The presentation of options is based on input received by the intelligent television. As a user provides input to the intelligent television via a remote control or other input device, the intelligent television is configured to interpret the input and provide interactive functionality in the form of content presented to the display of the intelligent television.

A display apparatus is disclosed. A display apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a display unit for displaying a pointer; a user input interface unit for receiving a user input for moving the pointer; and a control unit for, when actual coordinates of the pointer corresponding to a user input for moving the pointer are positioned within a menu area and the user input is received, moving the pointer while holding the pointer in a specific direction.

Systems and methods are provided herein for scheduling a season recording. A series is provided to a user device, the series having a plurality of sequential seasons, and each season having a plurality of episodes. A request for recording the series is received from the user. In response, a last episode of the series watched by the user is identified. A relevant season of the plurality of seasons is then determined, such that the relevant season precedes another season of the plurality of seasons and includes the last episode watched by the user. Then, episodes of the relevant season that follow the last episode watched by the user are scheduled for recording, such that episodes of a season that precedes the relevant season are not scheduled for recording.

A broadcast receiving apparatus includes: a first receiving unit receiving broadcast data for a first transmission method; a second receiving unit receiving broadcast data for a second transmission method; a first decoding unit decoding the broadcast data received by the first receiving unit; a second decoding unit decoding the broadcast data received by the second receiving unit; a video output unit outputting video, the video being generated based on data decoded by the first or second decoding unit; an operation input unit receiving control information from a remote controller; and a control unit controlling the units based on the control information received by the operation input unit.
