System and method for configuration of a controlling device to enable selection of media streams
A controlling device has a configurable key. An overlay, such as a sticker, is provided to the configurable key and includes an indicia representative of media content and machine readable data indicative of an identity of the media content represented by the indicia. A memory of the controlling device stores a correspondence between the configurable key and data indicative of a source of the media content. Upon activation of configured, configurable key, the controlling device uses select command codes from a library of command codes and the correspondence between the configurable key and the data indicative of the source of the media content to transmit one or more commands for causing one or more appliances to access the source of the media content.
Set-top box assistant for text input method and device
A text input method applied in a set-top box assistant comprises displaying a virtual keyboard on a TV display device, receiving a first input instruction, from a remote controller, decoding the first input instruction and inputting a first character, and performing a text searching operation in a text library according to the first character. Automatically selected and confirmable candidate characters are displayed on the virtual keyboard according to the search result. Movement of the remote controller is tracked, movement speed V.sub.1 of a focus point of the remote controller on the virtual keyboard is calculated and whether movement speed is greater than a preset speed affects the recognition of commands by the assistant. Movement speed of the focus point can auto-move the focus point to a second character and the second character can be confirmed as input. A text input device is also disclosed.
Providing a remote keyboard service
The systems described herein provide a remote keyboard service for a media device on a computing device without having to invoke an application or unlock the computing device. The computing device can receive a message indicating that a text input field on the other device is selected and present a notification to the user prompting the user to invoke the virtual keyboard on the computing device to provide text input to the selected text input field. The computing device can receive user input selecting the notification and present a virtual keyboard for providing text input to the other device. The computing device can receive keyboard input from the user selecting characters and send the characters to the other device. The other device can then user the characters as text input to the selected text input field.
Method and apparatus for inputting information on display interface, and storage medium
A method for inputting information on a display interface can be applied to a smart TV, and include: sending, in response to a need to input information in the display interface of the smart TV, indication information to a mobile terminal including a near field communication component, through a device associated with the smart TV and including a near field communication function circuit, the indication information being used to indicate that information needs to be input in the display interface; and acquiring information sent by the mobile terminal, and inputting the information in the display interface. The information to be input in the display interface of the smart TV can be input to the smart TV through the mobile terminal, thereby improving user experience.

Electronic apparatus and method of controlling the same
An electronic apparatus is provided. The electronic apparatus includes a signal receiver configured to receive a first wireless signal; a signal transmitter configured to output a second wireless signal; and a processor configured to: identify an external apparatus based on an input key indicated by the first wireless signal as the first wireless signal is repeatedly received through the signal receiver; identify the second wireless signal based on the input key and the external apparatus; and control the signal transmitter to repeatedly output the second wireless signal while the first wireless signal is repeatedly received. Each of the first wireless signal and the second wireless signal alternately comprises a signal section corresponding to the input key and an idle section, and the processor is further configured to control the signal transmitter to output the second wireless signal during the idle section of the first wireless signal.
