A switch remote control method is provided. The method is used for a remote control system of a KVM (Keyboard Video Mouse) matrix switch. The KVM matrix switch is connected with a plurality of switch transmitting devices and a plurality of switch receiving devices. The method includes the steps of: receiving data of the plurality of switch transmitting devices by the KVM matrix switch; transmitting the received data to at least one of the switch receiving devices according to preset allocation information by the KVM matrix switch; adjusting the allocation information according to a reallocation command and transmitting the data to the corresponding switch receiving devices by the KVM matrix switch.

The computing device can receive a message indicating that a text input field on the other device is selected and present a notification to the user prompting the user to invoke the virtual keyboard on the computing device to provide text input to the selected text input field. The computing device can receive keyboard input from the user selecting characters and send the characters to the other device. The other device can then user the characters as text input to the selected text input field.

The methods and systems comprise receiving an emergency alert request from a user via a set-top box at a subscriber location. The emergency alert request is received from a remote control. A medical alert message is sent by the set-top box to a processing device, based on the received medical alert request, via a first network. The processing device sends an emergency alert instruction to provide emergency assistance to the subscriber location to an emergency assistance service provider, via a second network, based, at least in part, on the message. A request to provide medical assistance to the subscriber location may be sent to a medical assistance service provider, who may be a third party. Emergency alert requests for the police or fire department may be sent to a 9-1-1 service.

A digital device and a method of processing data in a digital device are disclosed. The digital device includes a user interface (UI) for receiving a signal for executing an application and a signal for requesting to provide a keyboard during execution of the application, a controller for transmitting a first control command for requesting the external device for keyboard input data, if it is paired with an external device having a high priority related to providing a keyboard more than the digital device, outputting keyboard input data received from the external device in response to the first control command, controlling an operation based on the output keyboard input data, and controlling the keyboard input termination, and an output unit for outputting text data corresponding to an application execution image and text data corresponding to the received keyboard input data.
