An imaging unit outputs an RGB image based on a pixel signal corresponding to a visible light among light input through a lens and an IR image based on a pixel signal corresponding to an infrared light among light input through the lens. An ROI set unit sets a movement area of an infrared light source in the IR image based on the RGB image, and a display control unit controls a cursor movement amount on a display unit according to movement of the infrared light source in the movement area. The present technique can be applied to a television set that monitors a viewing condition of a viewer, for example.

This is accomplished by utilizing a smart-phone as a remote control by an application program, and transmitting the media content through a backend system utilizing WI-FI adapters to transmit streaming media to for instance a HDMI TV. An electronic device and a method of operating the same are provided. The electronic device includes a controller configured to receive a baseband signal corresponding to an infrared ray (IR) signal for controlling a peripheral device, to determine a first carrier frequency corresponding to the baseband signal based on remote controller code information included in the baseband signal, and to combine the first carrier frequency with the baseband signal; and a transmitter configured to transmit the baseband signal combined with the first carrier frequency to the peripheral device.

A multi-network transceiver includes two or more receiver modules for simultaneously monitoring traffic broadcast on different networks, but a shared transmitter that switches between the different networks as needed for transmitting data. The shared transmitter reduces the circuitry that would otherwise be required to transmit on multiple networks while the multiple receiver modules preserve the ability to monitor traffic on multiple networks.

Disclosed are a Bluetooth connection method and a television. The method may comprise: in response to a connection command for establishing a Bluetooth connection with a target Bluetooth device, determining a screen state of a display apparatus, wherein the screen state comprises a screen-on state or a screen-off state; if the screen state of the display apparatus is the screen-on state, establishing a Bluetooth connection with the target Bluetooth device; and if the screen state of the display apparatus is a screen-off state, forbidding the establishment of a Bluetooth connection with the target Bluetooth device. In the disclosure, a display apparatus establishes a connection with a Bluetooth device only when the screen state of the display apparatus is a screen-on state, thereby avoiding the situation where the display apparatus establishes a connection with the Bluetooth device when the display apparatus is in screen-off state.

A gateway device and system and method for use of the same are disclosed. In one embodiment, multiple wireless transceivers are located within a housing, which also interconnectively includes a processor and memory. To improve convenience, the gateway device may establish a pairing with a proximate wireless-enabled interactive programmable device having a display. Virtual remote control functionality for various amenities may then be provided. To improve safety, the gateway device may be incorporated into a geolocation and safety network.

The invention relates to a remote control for activating a predetermined function of a multimedia converter, in particular a set-top box, by means of a predetermined command, including: a keypad for entering the predetermined command by a user, a signal processing unit for converting the entered predetermined command into control data suitable to activate the predetermined function of the multimedia converter, and a transmission interface for transmitting the control data to the multimedia converter, characterized by a further data receiving interface different from the keypad for receiving setup data of a further device different from the multimedia converter, wherein the data receiving interface is arranged to configure the signal processing device and/or the multimedia converter in dependence on the setup data.

A method for inputting information on a display interface can be applied to a smart TV, and include: sending, in response to a need to input information in the display interface of the smart TV, indication information to a mobile terminal including a near field communication component, through a device associated with the smart TV and including a near field communication function circuit, the indication information being used to indicate that information needs to be input in the display interface; and acquiring information sent by the mobile terminal, and inputting the information in the display interface. The information to be input in the display interface of the smart TV can be input to the smart TV through the mobile terminal, thereby improving user experience.
