MULTI-MODE INPUT CONTROL UNIT WITH INFRARED AND LASER CAPABILITY
A multi-mode remote control unit that has both infrared command and laser pointer capability. In some examples, the multi-mode remote control unit together with one or both of a television receiver and a television may implement simulated touch gestures that typically require a touch sensitive screen. The multi-mode remote control unit in such an implementation advantageously may not include logic to implement simulated multi-touch gestures. Rather, one or both of the television receiver and the television may include logic to implement simulated touch gestures.
System and methods for enhanced remote control functionality
A hand-held device having a touch sensitive surface uses a relative distance from an origin location to each of a plurality of touch zones of the touch sensitive surface activated by a user to select a one of the plurality of touch zones as being intended for activation by the user.
Systems and methods for dynamic scheduling
Disclosed herein a system, a method and a device for dynamic scheduling between a head wearable display and a console is provided. The head wearable display can initiate, at a first time instance, a first downlink transmission to the console. The head wearable display can dynamically indicate, to the console, an end of the first downlink transmission, at a second time instance when transfer of data of the first downlink transmission is complete. The head wearable display can dynamically cause, relative to the second time instance, the console to begin an uplink transmission. The head wearable display can receive an indication to dynamically start a second downlink transmission, at a third time instance when transfer of data of the uplink transmission is complete.
METHOD FOR PERFORMING DISPLAY CONTROL OF AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE IN RESPONSE TO A USER ACTIVITY, AND ASSOCIATED APPARATUS
A method for performing display control of an electronic device and an associated apparatus are provided, where the method may include: detecting a user activity of a user to determine a user orientation of the user with respect to a display area of the electronic device; and according to the user orientation of the user with respect to the display area, selectively adjusting at least one portion of a plurality of display contents in the display area to emulate what is viewed from a normal direction of the display area, to allow the user to view the at least one portion of the plurality of display contents without need of changing a display area orientation of the display area.
MOBILE TERMINAL AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME
A mobile terminal including a wireless processor configured to provide wireless communication; a touch screen; and a controller configured to display a search bar on the touch screen for searching a video and a specific time point of the video, in response to a first touch input at a touch region of the search bar, display a preview image at a play time point corresponding to the touch region of the search bar, convert the preview image into a plurality of preview images at a plurality of play time points in response to a changed touch degree of the first touch input, and in response to a second touch input being consecutively applied to the search bar when the preview images are displayed, change a play speed of at least part of the preview images at a play time point.
System and method for audio control of concurrently displayed video programs
A system and method for enabling the selection of audio associated with one or more concurrently displayed video programs to be controlled. This system and method enable a user to select one or more concurrently displayed video programs and consequently control the routing and volume of the audio associated with one or all of the concurrently displayed video programs. The concurrently viewed videos can be presented in a picture-in-picture format.
ELECTRONIC APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF
Disclosed are a display apparatus and a method of controlling the display apparatus. The display apparatus includes: a signal receiver configured to receive a broadcasting signal; a display configured to display an image based on the received broadcasting signal; a sound receiver configured to receive a sound spoken by a user; a first sound recognizer configured to be supplied with power when the display apparatus is in a standby mode, and determine whether the received sound is a reserved word candidate having a high probability of corresponding to a reserved word; a second sound recognizer configured to be supplied with power when the received sound is determined as the reserved word candidate and to determine whether the received sound is the reserved word; and a controller configured to control the preset operation to be performed when the received sound is determined as the reserved word.
System and method for voice actuated configuration of a controlling device
A speech recognition engine is provided voice data indicative of at least a brand of a target appliance. The speech recognition engine uses the voice data indicative of at least a brand of the target appliance to identify within a library of codesets at least one codeset that is cross-referenced to the brand of the target appliance. The at least one codeset so identified is then caused to be provisioned to the controlling device for use in commanding functional operations of the target appliance.
COMPUTER PROCESSING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING COORDINATE COMPENSATION FOR A REMOTE CONTROL KEY AND DETECTING ERRORS BY USING USER PROFILE INFORMATION BASED ON FORCE INPUTS
Provided are a computer processing device and a method for providing coordinate compensation and determining errors by using user profile information based on force inputs. The computer processing device includes an information collector unit and an analysis unit. The information collector unit collects information on various inputs entered on a key of a remote control. From among the inputs entered on a same key, the analysis unit compensates an input that corresponds to a level lying in-between a first level and a second level, the first level corresponding to a normal input and the second level corresponding to a force input, in such a way that the input is compensated to be a normal input or a force input. Here, the force input is an input entered with a greater pressure or a larger area than for the normal input on the key of the remote control.
IMAGE PROCESSING TERMINAL FOR PERFORMING A DIFFERENT OPERATION ACCORDING TO A FORCE INPUT AND UPGRADE OF SOFTWARE AND METHOD FOR UPGRADING THE SOFTWARE
An image processing terminal for performing a different operation according to a force input and upgrade of software and a method of upgrading the software are disclosed. The image processing terminal comprises a processor, a memory connected to the processor and a communication unit configured to receive a control signal having information concerning a force input from a remote controller or receive control command information and updated control command information from a computer processing device or a storage device, according to a selection of a key by a user. Here, the memory stores program commands by which the processor performs different operations or different screens according to the control command information or the updated control command information though the control signal corresponding to the force input to the same key is received from the remote controller.
