Automatic program formatting for TV displays
10742925 · 2020-08-11 · ·

A smart multimedia content receiver automatically resizes video images based on the content being displayed on the TV screen. Such a self-formatting content receiver includes on-board image processing capability that provides continuous video analysis to detect changes in program formatting and convert each frame as it is received in real time, as opposed to processing and re-releasing an entire program or movie, or relying on the viewer to re-format programs manually. In response to detecting a change, aspect ratio adjustments are made as needed. Because the self-formatting content receiver has access to the video data before it is displayed, such automatic on-the-fly adjustments ensure that the viewer's experience during program changes is seamless and without distortion. Subscribers can influence decisions made by the content receiver by pre-setting viewer preferences for aspect ratio adjustment.

A device provides multiple video streams from a plurality of video streams to a display. The device includes an input interface, a frame controller, and an output interface. The input interface is configured to receive a plurality of video streams and to transfer the plurality of video streams to the frame controller. The frame controller is configured to generate frame signals including multiple subframe signals corresponding to a video stream of the plurality of video streams. The output interface is configured to output the frame signals to the display. The frame signals are configured to cause video from multiple video streams of the plurality of video streams to be displayed in separate non-overlapping portions on the display.

MOVING VIDEO TAGS

A method causes a display device to simultaneously display at least the following: a video depicting an item in a scene and a tag in a first position on the video. The tag is associated with the item depicted in the video. The tag includes text information associated with the item depicted in the video. The method also causes the tag to undergo motion relative to at least a portion of the video scene from the first position to a second position different from the first position, while causing the display device to display the video and the tag on the video.

Display device and operation method thereof

A display device operation method according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: operating in a twin mode in which a merge screen obtained by merging a first screen of the display device and a second screen of another display device connected to the display device can be used by linking a plurality of display devices including the display device; displaying a pointer on the first screen; acquiring a user input for the displayed pointer; and performing an operation corresponding to the acquired user input through one or more of the plurality of display devices.

Method and apparatus of content-based self-adaptive video transcoding

A method of content-based self-adaptive video transcoding, which includes: acquiring a minimum quantized value representative of a content complexity of a video to be transcoded and satisfying a preset objective quality standard; setting a value of transcoding parameter based on the minimum quantized value representative of the content complexity of the video to be transcoded and a video parameter value of the video to be transcoded; and transcoding the video to be transcoded based on the set transcoding parameter to generate a target video. The present disclosure further provides an apparatus of content-based self-adaptive video transcoding. The method provided by the present disclosure can avoid unnecessarily bandwidth consumption while ensuring the quality of the transcoded video.

VIDEO PLAYBACK DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF

Provided are an artificial intelligence (AI) system that mimics cognitive functions, such as cognition and judgment, of the human brain using a machine learning algorithm such as deep learning and applications thereof. More particularly, provided is a device including a memory storing least one program and a first video, a display, and at least one processor configured to display the first video on at least one portion of the display by executing the at least one program, wherein the at least one program includes instructions for: comparing an aspect ratio of the first video with an aspect ratio of an area in which the first video is to be displayed, generating a second video corresponding to the aspect ratio of the area by using the first video when the aspect ratio of the first video is different from the aspect ratio of the area, and displaying the second video in the area, wherein the generating of the second video is performed by inputting at least one frame of the first video to an AI neural network.

System, method and control server for media display on video wall
10575053 · 2020-02-25 · ·

A system, a method, and a control server for media display on a video wall are provided. The system includes a media server, a plurality of transcode servers, a video wall, and a control server connected through a network. The media server provides a media file. The control server determines cutting parameters used to cut a medium recorded in the media file into video data suitable for display on each of a plurality of displays according to configuration information of the displays in the video wall to generate a plurality of transcode tasks including the cutting parameters, and sequentially assigns the transcode tasks to the transcode servers to perform transcoding. The media server collects transcode result files uploaded by each of the transcode servers and provides the same for a player of the corresponding display to read and display on the display.

Moving video tags

A display device displays a tag overlaid on a video scene in a first portion of a video screen. The displayed tag is associated with content depicted in the video, includes descriptive text information, and is clickable, so that upon selection by a user, additional information associated with the tag is displayed. Based at least in part on an indication that the tag has been selected by a user, the tag undergoes vertical and/or horizontal repositioning relative to the first portion of the video screen, to a second portion of the video screen. The display device displays the video and the tag overlaid on the video in the second portion of the video screen. The displaying of the tag includes displaying at least a portion of the additional information associated with the tag.

Media content presentation

A method of presenting media content is disclosed. A plurality of assets is received at a mobile device comprising a display and an orientation sensor. The plurality of assets comprises a first video asset associated with a first aspect ratio, and a second video asset associated with a second aspect ratio, different from the first aspect ratio. A desired aspect ratio is determined based on an output of the orientation sensor. In accordance with a determination that the desired aspect ratio is closer to the first aspect ratio than to the second aspect ratio, the first video asset is selected. In accordance with a determination that the desired aspect ratio is closer to the second aspect ratio than to the first aspect ratio, the second video asset is selected. The selected video is presented at the desired aspect ratio via the display.
