Systems and Methods for Using Hierarchical Ordered Weighted Averaging for Providing Personalized Media Content
An electronic device, for each media content item of a plurality of media content items, receives a respective score for each a first set of objectives and one or more other objectives and generates a respective score between a user and the media content item. The generating includes applying a first ordered weighted average to the respective scores for the first set of objectives, to produce a first combined score for the first set of objectives, applying a second ordered weighted average to the respective scores for a second set of objectives, wherein the second set of objectives includes (i) a resulting objective corresponding to the first set of objectives and having the first combined score and (ii) the one or more other objectives. The electronic device streams media content to the user selected based on the respective scores between the user and the media content items.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR CO-VIEWING ADJUSTMENT
Methods and apparatus disclosed herein can be used to perform co-viewer adjustment. An example apparatus or viewership adjustment includes at least one memory, machine readable instructions, and processor circuitry to execute the machine readable instructions to determine compliant and non-compliant household panel meter data based on household metrics for past household viewing behavior, adjust undercounted viewership data based on an active media session interval associated with the household metrics, adjust overcounted viewership data based on a viewership model, the viewership model trained using the compliant household panel meter data, and output adjusted viewership data based on the adjusted undercounted viewership data and adjusted overcounted viewership data.
Methods of using proxy IP addresses and redirection for cross-device actions
A profile provider: (i) associates a primary online device (OD1) with a set-top box (STB); (ii) a location of OD1 at some point in time is estimated to be “near” the STB, thereby establishing a STB proxy location; (iii) one or more secondary online devices (OD2s) are observed to be located “near” the STB proxy location and are associated with the STB; and (iv) a television advertisement is selected to be directed to the STB, which selection is based at least in part on profile information linked to one of the associated OD2s. The method can be particularly advantageous in situations wherein: the STB is not connected to any computer network; the STB is not ever connected to the same local area network as OD1 or OD2; or television service (used by the STB) and online access (used by OD1 and OD2s) are provided by different service providers.
Methods and apparatus to measure exposure to streaming media
Methods and apparatus to measure exposure to streaming media are disclosed. An example apparatus includes an event listener to listen for an event notification based on a playback position of a first media segment of a multi-segment media. The example apparatus includes a metadata handler to update a multi-file counter with an offset based on a duration of the first media segment, detect that a second media segment is a segment of the multi-segment media, determine a playback time within the second media segment, add the playback time to the multi-file counter to determine a corresponding playback time of the multi-segment media, and attempt to perform a lookup of a metadata tag in a table based on the playback time of the multi-segment media. The example apparatus includes and a transmitter to transmit the metadata tag corresponding to the playback time of the multi-segment media to an audience measurement entity.
Server for providing television and system and method for use of same
A sever for providing television and system and method for use of the same are disclosed. In one embodiment, the server includes a network interface controller that is configured to receive a source internet protocol television signal, which includes two channels, from an external source and at least partially prepare the source internet protocol signal in order to forward the signal to a television. The server saves in a buffer the at least partially prepared second channel beginning at a recent periodic, sequential signal access point. In response to receiving a channel request instruction from a requesting television when the server is forwarding the at least partially prepared first channel signal, the server forwards the at least partially prepared signal based on the second channel stored in the buffer beginning at the recent periodic, sequential signal access point.
Managing addressable asset campaigns across multiple devices
An addressable asset system (100) includes user equipment devices (UEDs) (102), a cloud decisioning system (CDS) (106) and a business data management system (BDMS) (108). The BDMS (108) collects information that is used by the CDS (106) to manage delivery of assets by the UEDs (102). In an exemplary network architecture, the CDS (106) is independent of the network insertion and delivery equipment. In particular, the broadcast content stream is delivered to the UED (102) by a digital content management(DCM) system (110) and certain assets are separately delivered to the UED (102) by the asset download network (AND) (112). This allows the CDS (106) to remain independent of the network of the UED (102) such that the CDS (106) can operate across networks.
Customized recommendations of multimedia content streams
Customized recommendations of multimedia content streams are provided herein. A method can include facilitating, by a network device of a wireless network and comprising a processor, an output of a recommendation of a first multimedia content stream at a communications device based on a monitored interaction determined to have been performed by an identified entity at the communications device. The method can also include facilitating, by the network device, a first transmission of the first multimedia content stream to the communications device in response to an acceptance of the recommendation of the first multimedia content stream received from the communications device. The first multimedia content stream can be renderable for consumption at the communications device.
Methods and apparatus to estimate population reach from different marginal rating unions
Example methods, apparatus, systems, and articles of manufacture are disclosed to estimate population reach for different unions based on marginal ratings. An example apparatus includes memory and processor circuitry to determine a population reach estimate of a union of time intervals for which media ratings data is available, the population reach estimate based on a pseudo universe estimate of a population audience corresponding to the union of the time intervals; determine a pseudo universe estimate of a recorded audience corresponding to the union of the time intervals; determine the pseudo universe estimate of the population audience based on the pseudo universe estimate of the recorded audience; and in response to a decision to update the pseudo universe estimate of the population audience to reduce an error of the population reach estimate output the population reach estimate of the union when the error of the population reach estimate satisfies a threshold.
Systems and methods for optimizing the broadcast of multimedia
A method for optimizing the broadcast of multimedia is described. Multimedia is broadcast to at least one multimedia user device. User information is received from the at least one multimedia user device. The user information relates to user behavior from the at least one multimedia user device. The user information is processed to select future multimedia to broadcast. The future multimedia is broadcast.
