A first optical transmission media can extend along the tube to transmit laser modality energy from a laser energy source to the obstruction. A connector assembly can be mechanically coupled with the first end of the tube and with the first end of the first optical transmission media. The connector assembly can be configured for user-attachment and detachment of the tube and the first optical transmission media with a mechanical energy source coupling and a laser energy source coupling, respectively.

STAND-OFF CATHETER WITH MULTIPLE LASER-FIRING PORTS
20210196379 · 2021-07-01 ·

A surgical laser delivery systems utilizes a standoff catheter to prevent contact and/or maintain a predetermined spacing between the laser delivery fiber or fiber assembly and the target. The standoff catheter includes multiple side-firing ports. The side-firing ports may include openings of the same or different dimensions, at least one diffuser, and/or at least one lens, to permit the operator to control the degree of vaporization/coagulation and/or vary lasing parameters without having to withdraw the optical fiber from the patient, by rotating or linearly moving the laser or laser assembly with respect the standoff catheter. The side-firing ports may also include an opening at the front of the stand-off catheter to enable use with a forward-firing laser fiber or fiber assembly.

A medical device that includes a hand piece; a beam fiber; and a beam disperser located at a distal end of the beam fiber through which beam energy is dispersed. The beam disperser includes one face, or a plurality of substantially planar faces through which the beam energy is dispersed.

Laser shaving

A device configured to cut hair using laser light includes a handle portion and a shaving portion. The handle portion includes a battery and a laser light source. The laser light source is coupled to and configured to receive power from the battery. The laser light source is also configured to generate laser light having a wavelength selected to target a predetermined chromophore to effectively cut a hair shaft. The shaving portion includes a support and a single fiber optic supported by the support. The fiber optic has a proximal end, a distal end, an outer wall, and a cutting region positioned towards the distal end and extending along a portion of the side wall. The fiber optic is positioned to receive the laser light from the laser light source at the proximal end, conduct the laser light from the proximal end toward the distal end, and emit the light out of the cutting region and toward hair when the cutting region is brought in contact with the hair.

MEDICAL SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND RELATED METHODS

A medical system includes an insertion device including a handle and a delivery portion, a laser fiber, a conductive wire, and a lock. The laser fiber extends through the insertion device and is coupled to a laser slider to control a position of the laser fiber relative to a distal end of the delivery portion. The conductive wire extends through the insertion device and is coupled to a wire slider to control a position of the laser fiber relative to a distal end of the delivery portion. The lock is positioned within the handle and is movable in order to selectively lock either the movement of the laser slider or lock the movement of the wire slider.

Laser energy delivery devices including distal tip orientation indicators

A laser ablation catheter includes a distal tip, and the distal tip includes a body that defines a longitudinal axis. A first orientation indicator is formed on the body, and the first orientation indicator has an alphanumeric shape. A second orientation indicator is formed on the body. The second orientation indicator is disposed relative to the first orientation indicator such that when the distal tip is viewed in a first side view, the second orientation indicator and the first orientation indicator overlap, appear as the alphanumeric shape, and visually contrast with the body. The second orientation indicator is configured such that when the distal tip is viewed in a second side view, the second orientation indicator appears as the alphanumeric shape and visually contrasts with the body, the second side view and the first side view being substantially 90 degrees apart about the longitudinal axis.
