Steerable laser probe

A steerable laser probe may include a handle having a handle distal end and a handle proximal end, an actuation lever of the handle, a flexible housing tube having a flexible housing tube distal end and a flexible housing tube proximal end, and an optic fiber disposed within an inner bore of the handle and the flexible housing tube. An actuation of the actuation lever may gradually curve the flexible housing tube and the optic fiber. An actuation of the actuation lever may gradually straighten the flexible housing tube and the optic fiber.

STEERABLE LASER PROBE

A steerable laser probe may include a handle, an actuation lever, an optic fiber, and a housing tube. The housing tube may have a first housing tube portion having a first stiffness and a second housing tube portion having a second stiffness. The second stiffness may be greater than the first stiffness. The optic fiber may be disposed within the housing tube and within an inner bore of the handle. An actuation of the actuation lever about a pivot pin of the handle may gradually curve the optic fiber. An actuation of the actuation lever about the pivot pin of the handle may gradually straighten the optic fiber.

Laser irradiation tip, laser irradiation handpiece, laser treatment apparatus, and laser irradiation tip end member

A laser irradiation tip has a main body and a tip end portion. The main body is connected with a handpiece and irradiating therapeutic laser with high absorbability in water. The tip end portion being connected with the main body. The main body of the laser irradiation tip has an optical fiber for guiding the therapeutic laser, a water flow path, and an air flow path in a parallel manner. The tip end portion of the laser irradiation tip has a connection portion with the main body, a water guide path communicated with the water flow path of the main body, an air guide path communicated with the air flow path of the main body, a fiber guide portion capable of inserting a tip side portion of the optical fiber, and a mixing chamber of water and air.

Periodontal disorders such as disorders associated with a dental implant are treated. An average power for a laser is selected via a user interface on a tablet, along with a set of permissible laser parameters provided in response to the selected average power. A gingival trough or flap is created around the implant with the laser. Infected tissue is selectively ablated or denatured via photothermolysis, and a pocket is lased around the affected implant. Marginal tissues are compressed against the implant.
