Ingress resistant portable speaker

Various implementations include portable loudspeakers. Certain implementations include a portable loudspeaker that mitigates ingress of moisture, particulates, and other contaminates. In particular implementations, the portable loudspeaker includes a housing with an enclosure having a co-molded construction for ingress resistance.

BALANCED ACOUSTIC DEVICE WITH PASSIVE RADIATORS
20230188895 · 2023-06-15 · ·

An acoustic device including a first passive radiator structure and a second passive radiator structure is provided. The first passive radiator structure includes a passive diaphragm mechanically coupled to a first enclosure member via a first flexible suspension element, and is configured to vibrate relative to the first enclosure member. The second passive radiator structure includes a second enclosure member, and is configured to vibrate relative to the first enclosure member. The second passive radiator structure further includes a second flexible suspension element mechanically coupled to the first enclosure member and the second enclosure member. The second passive radiator structure further includes an active electro-acoustic transducer mechanically coupled to the second enclosure member. The second passive radiator structure moves when the active electro-acoustic transducer vibrates. A first mass of the first passive radiator structure is less than a second mass of the second passive radiator structure. During operation, the first enclosure member experiences substantially no vibrations

Server connectivity control for a tele-presence robot

A robot system with a robot that has a camera and a remote control station that can connect to the robot. The connection can include a plurality of privileges. The system further includes a server that controls which privileges are provided to the remote control station. The privileges may include the ability to control the robot, joint in a multi-cast session and the reception of audio/video from the robot. The privileges can be established and edited through a manager control station. The server may contain a database that defines groups of remote control station that can be connected to groups of robots. The database can be edited to vary the stations and robots within a group. The system may also allow for connectivity between a remote control station at a user programmable time window.

SPEAKER APPARATUS

Generation of a secondary sound source is inhibited, and a sound quality is improved. Included are a support fixed to a mount base, a speaker unit including a portion to be fixed, and a base casing holding the speaker unit, and the speaker unit is fixed to the support and the base casing with the portion to be fixed being sandwiched between the support and the base casing. With this configuration, the speaker unit will be held stably, a great oscillation from a diaphragm of the speaker unit is less transmitted to the parts other than the diaphragm of the speaker unit, to the member holding the speaker unit, or the like. Generation of a secondary sound source is inhibited, and a sound quality can be improved.

Portable loudspeaker

A portable loudspeaker includes an electro-acoustic driver which creates sound waves when operated and a housing having a front side to which the driver is secured. The loudspeaker also includes a battery supported by the housing for providing electrical power to the driver and a cover having an upper portion and a lower portion, and secured to the housing which can be moved between (i) a closed position in which the upper and lower portions overlie the driver, and (ii) an open position in which the upper and lower portions do not overlie the driver and are substantially disposed beneath a supporting base of the housing. A controller controls operation of the loudspeaker. When the cover is moved to the closed position, the controller mutes the driver if the driver was outputting acoustic waves when the cover was moved to the closed position.

OMNI-DIRECTIONAL SPEAKER SYSTEM AND RELATED DEVICES AND METHODS
20170303034 · 2017-10-19 · ·

An omni-directional speaker system includes a deflector sub-assembly and a pair of acoustic sub-assemblies. The deflector sub-assembly includes a pair of diametrically opposed acoustic deflectors. Each of the acoustic sub-assemblies includes an acoustic driver for radiating acoustic energy toward an associated one of the acoustic deflectors. The acoustic sub-assemblies are coupled together via the deflector sub-assembly.

ORGANIC LIGHT-EMITTING DIODE DISPLAY DEVICE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

An organic light emitting device includes: a substrate; a first electrode provided on the substrate; a metal pattern provided along an edge of the first electrode; and a pixel definer provided on the metal pattern. The pixel definer covers an end portion of the first electrode and an end portion of the metal pattern. The pixel definer includes an opening exposing the first electrode.

SPEAKER MODULE

A speaker module includes a first cavity body, a second cavity body disposed adjacent to the first cavity body and a vibration module disposed in the first cavity body and including a first diaphragm and a second diaphragm which are horizontally spaced apart. The first cavity body includes a first sub-cavity and a second sub-cavity which are respectively located on two opposite sides of the vibration module, and the second sub-cavity is communicated with the second cavity body.

EARPHONE DEVICE HAVING CONCENTRATING TUBE
20170280227 · 2017-09-28 ·

An earphone device having a concentrating tube includes an annular magnet, a first yoke, a second yoke, a concentrating tube, a speaker assembly, and a passive diaphragm. The first and second yokes are respectively connected to first and second magnetic pole faces of the annular magnet. The concentrating tube is received in a central through hole of the annular magnet. The concentrating tube includes first and second open ends. The speaker assembly includes a voice coil and an active diaphragm. The passive and active diaphragms are at two opposite ends of the concentrating tube. The active and passive diaphragms are respectively close to the first and second open ends. A gas flow generated by the active diaphragm is gathered by the concentrating tube and pushes the passive diaphragm. A gas flow generated by the passive diaphragm returns through the concentrating tube to push the active diaphragm and transmits acoustic waves.
