WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, MAIN BASE STATION, SECONDARY BASE STATION, AND WIRELESS COMMUNICATION METHOD
To enable a communication band between base stations to be efficiently used, a wireless communication system provided with a main base station and a secondary base station. A wireless communication system, wherein when dual connectivity, which is an operation mode that allows connection to both the main base station and the secondary base station by a terminal, is executed, the secondary base station transmits information pertaining to the free buffer space of a wireless data bearer group comprising a plurality of wireless data bearers to the main base station in units of a wireless data bearer group.
TERMINAL DEVICE AND METHOD BY WHICH TERMINAL DEVICE SWITCHES DATA TRANSMISSION PATH
The present invention relates to a terminal device and a method by which a terminal device switches a data transmission path, the terminal device being capable of switching a data transmission path by determining by itself whether the data transmission path for transmission of user plane data is switched without a link, among core configurations of respective networks in a mutual interworking environment among heterogeneous networks.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR SCHEDULING MULTI-ACCESS EDGE COMPUTING RESOURCES
Systems and methods described herein provide an intelligent MEC resource scheduling service. A network device in a MEC network stores, in a memory, threshold values indicating overload conditions for resource usage by a first MEC cluster; monitors resource usage in the first MEC cluster; determines, based on the monitoring, when one of the threshold values is reached; identifies available resources in a second MEC cluster; and re-directs, based on the identifying, at least some of the resource usage from the first MEC cluster to the second MEC cluster.
Device and Method for Detecting and Mitigating Digital Data Network Congestion
An access point (AP) device comprising a controller configured to monitor bandwidth allocated by the AP device to a plurality of data flows directed to a plurality of wireless clients using a supported AP device, receive from the supported AP device a message indicating a degradation of a quality of service (QoS) level of the supported AP device, and adapt, in response to the message, a bandwidth allocated to a data flow which is forwarded to the supported AP device.
Method and Apparatus for Traffic Management in a Self-Backhauled Network by Using Capacity Requests
The present invention describes a radio base station and a method for integrated access and backhaul by using backhaul capacity requests. The radio base station is configured to allocate a first part of its capacity to access traffic and a second part of its capacity to backhaul traffic. It is further configured to form a self-backhauled network with a plurality of other radio base stations and select a backhaul route through the self-backhauled network for uplink and downlink backhaul traffic.
Multi-path TCP over dual networks
Systems and methods for simultaneous multi-path TCP data flows over a plurality of transport paths, such as satellite and terrestrial networks. One system enables the plurality of paths to be used for increasing the end-to-end transport reliability or throughput of the network, depending on the prevailing reliabilities of the paths. One method includes determining, with a first electronic processor, a first reliability for a first network path configured to carry a first data stream, and a second reliability for a second network path configured to carry a second data stream. The method includes transmitting the first and second reliabilities to a second electronic processor. The method includes receiving a selected mode based on the first and second reliabilities, said mode indicating whether the plurality of paths are being used to enhance reliability or throughput. The method includes receiving the first and second data streams, and processing the first and second data streams based on the selected mode. The method includes determining the relative delays between the plurality of paths and equalizing the delays through buffering, which may be performed either at the transmitter, the receiver or both.
Resource management and logical channel aggregation for 5G networks
Resource load balancing for eNodeB includes identifying reduced workload conditions for an underutilized processor (CPU) core and transferring dedicated traffic channel (DTCH) communication to a target CPU core. Upon migrating each DTCH from the selected CPU core, the underutilized CPU core is caused to go into sleep mode, not to receive DTCH request until activated.
RESOURCE UTILIZATION BASED EVENT TRIGGERING IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that support resource utilization based event triggering. A wireless node in a wireless communications system may establish a connection with a core network via a path that includes one or more relay nodes. The wireless node may determine that a network load associated with one or more paths between the wireless node and the core network has changed, or that a difference between two or more network loads of different paths has changed. Based on such a determination, the wireless node may transmit a report to the network. In some cases, the network may receive the report from the wireless node, and may initiate a path change based on the report.
Event-based load balancing in 4G-5G multi-radio dual connectivity
Systems and methods for balancing load in an area of a wireless network comprising first nodes operating according to a first Radio Access Technology and at least one second node operating according to a second Radio Access Technology. The method comprises establishing a connection between a user device and a first node; receiving an indication of an entry threshold for establishing a connection between the user device and a second node during a current time period, wherein the entry threshold is determined in dependence on an expected usage requirement for the area of the wireless network during the current time period; determining, by the user device, whether a parameter of a signal received from the second node exceeds the entry threshold; and responsive to determining that the parameter of the signal received from the second node exceeds the entry threshold, establishing, by the first node, a dual connectivity session between the user device and both the first and the second nodes.
Methods and systems for selecting a user plane function in a wireless communication network
A method for selecting a user plane function when a user equipment (UE) attaches to a wireless communication network may include determining a data throughput limit associated with the UE, identifying a first user plane function having a first data throughput capacity, and identifying a second user plane function having a second data throughput capacity, wherein the first throughput capacity is higher than the second throughput capacity. The method may further include selecting the first user plane function if the data throughput limit of the UE is above a predetermined threshold, selecting the second user plane function if the data throughput limit of the UE is below the predetermined threshold, and sending a session request to the selected first or second user plane function.
