An exit of the pipe simulates or represents an exit of the vessel or cavity at the organ. A tool is inserted at an entrance of the pipe and pushed through the pipe. A stereoscopic camera acquires images of an end portion of the tool as it exits from the pipe. A model generating unit generates a real-time 3D model of this end portion from the images. A merging unit merges in real time the real-time model and a pre-computed 3D model of the organ into a common environment displayed so that the interventionalist can see in real-time where the real-time model of the tool is located with respect to the pre-computed model.

In some embodiments in the total knee replacement, a greater portion of a shearing force acting transversely on the tibial tray and the resected portion of the proximal portion of the tibia of the patient is resisted by the at least one inferiorly-extending wall compared to a portion of the shearing force being resisted along the center inferior surface of the tibial tray and the resected cancellous bone surface. The screw inhibits lift-off.

In one embodiment, the treatment planning module is adapted to generate an estimated first 3-dimensional treatment volume for display in the display device based on the ratio of a maximum conductivity of the treatment area to a baseline conductivity of the treatment area. The invention also provides for a method for estimating 3-dimensional treatment volume, the steps of which are executable through the processor. In embodiments, the system and method are based on a numerical model which may be implemented in computer readable code which is executable through a processor.

The trimming guide may be operative as a guide for marking or cutting the premanufactured membrane through the opening while the premanufactured membrane is held in the cut-out.

A computer-implemented method for determining implant positions of two implant components relative to two bones that form a joint is disclosed. The method includes acquiring a set of target poses to be achieved between the two bones, assessing one or more proposed implant arrangements using the set of target poses, and selecting an implant arrangement from the proposed implant arrangements based on the assessment. Assessing an implant arrangement includes determining a real pose between the two bones for each target pose, calculating a pose deviation value for each target pose based on the target pose and the corresponding real pose, and calculating an overall pose deviation value from the individual pose deviation values. The implant arrangement may be selected based on the overall pose deviation values for the proposed implant arrangements.
