Aspects of the present disclosure relate to systems, devices and methods for displaying, placing, fitting, sizing, selecting, aligning, moving a virtual implant on a physical anatomic structure of a patient and, optionally, modifying or changing the displaying, placing, fitting, sizing, selecting, aligning, moving, for example based on kinematic information.

End effector force sensor and manual actuation assistance

An automated positioning system and methods of controlling the same. The positioning system includes a multi-joint positioning arm, an end effector coupled to a distal end of the positioning arm, a force-moment sensor (FMS) coupled to the end effector and a controller coupled to communicate with the positioning arm and the FMS. Using signals from the FMS, at least one external force or torque applied to the end effector is determined. A drive velocity for moving the end effector is determined, based on the at least one external force or torque. One or more joint movements of the positioning arm for moving the end effector is calculated, according to the drive velocity. The positioning arm is moved according to the one or more calculated joint movements.

Antenna systems and methods of use

An antenna system for tissue ablation includes an energy transmission member, a conductive hollow coil member, and a fluid cooling system. The energy transmission member has an inner conductor, an outer conductor, and a dielectric layer between the inner and outer conductors. A portion of the dielectric layer extends distally of a distal end of the outer conductor. The conductive hollow coil member includes a member lumen within a length of the conductive hollow coil member. The conductive hollow coil member is coiled around the portion of the dielectric layer and is separate from the inner conductor. The conductive hollow coil member extends along an entire length of the outer conductor of the energy transmission member. The fluid cooling system is coupled to the conductive hollow coil member for providing a flow of a cooling fluid through the member lumen for cooling the conductive hollow coil member.

Systems, methods, and other embodiments associated with characterizing Radio Frequency Ablation (RFA) lesions using Optica Coherence Tomography (OCT) are described. One example method includes acquiring an OCT signal from a Region Of Interest (ROI) in an ablated material. The example method may also include determining whether a lesion was formed by the ablation by analyzing optical properties of the ROI as recorded in the OCT signal.

A system comprises a needle; and an endoscope inserted into the needle and configured to: store a convolutional neural network (CNN); distinguish among a cortex of a kidney of an animal body, a medulla of the kidney, and a calyx of the kidney using the CNN; and distinguish between vascular tissue and non-vascular tissue in the animal body using the CNN.

Tuned RF energy and electrical tissue characterization for selective treatment of target tissues

A catheter and catheter system can use energy tailored for remodeling and/or removal of target material along a body lumen, often of atherosclerotic material of a blood vessel of a patient. An elongate flexible catheter body with a radially expandable structure may have a plurality of electrodes or other electrosurgical energy delivery surfaces to radially engage atherosclerotic material when the structure expands. An atherosclerotic material detector system may measure and/or characterize the atherosclerotic material and its location, optionally using impedance monitoring.
