Prophylaxis tool handpiece
A dental prophylaxis tool handpiece includes a motor section having a first connector; a sleeve section having a second connector with a first end extending over a portion of the motor section and engaging a prophylaxis tool at a second end; the first and second connector configured for engagement with each other and configured to limit relative axial movement of the sleeve section relative to the motor section while allowing for free rotational movement of the sleeve section relative to the motor section; and upon engagement of the sleeve section with the motor section, a portion of the motor portion is covered to substantially isolate the portion of the motor section from contaminants. Other embodiments incorporate a positive air pressure feature and/or an ozone generator. Associated methods of preventing contamination of at least a distal portion of a motor section of a prophylaxis tool handpiece are also described.
SIMPLIFIED SYSTEM AND PROCEDURE FOR COMPUTER-GUIDED DENTAL IMPLANT SURGERY
We disclosed a simplified computer-guided drilling system and procedure for performing dental implant surgery. The system comprises: a drilling expansion means, which comprises a drilling body with a pointed end attached to a smooth-walled cylindrical body; and one or more expansion means of the perforation, comprising a guide body with a pointed end maintaining the drilling position, and a second bod with a cylindrical-conical shape whose diameter increases as moving away from the end, for allowing the insertion of an implant whose shape corresponds to the last expansion means but with a larger diameter; wherein the smooth-walled cylindrical body precisely fits an opening in a previously computer made guide element, wherein said opening defines a drilling position and a drilling direction.
Quick stop drilling tool for use with a medical or dental treatment device
A quick stop drilling tool for use with a medical or dental treatment device includes a drilling tool having a body extending between a connection end and a working end and having a longitudinal extension along a longitudinal axis of the drilling tool. The drilling tool has a hollow outer shell in which a probe is held that can be moved along the longitudinal axis so that a part of the probe can be moved out of the shell through an opening. The probe is designed as an elongated pin, and its first end facing the connection end is held in the interior of the hollow outer shell. An electromagnetic sensor for detecting relative movement between the shell and the probe is arranged along the longitudinal extension of the body. The drilling tool has a channel for a treatment fluid extending along the longitudinal axis.
Device for continuous irrigation with activation in endodontics application
Disclosed herein is a dental device for delivering fluid continuously while activated in an endodontic application. The dental device includes a hollow needle having a tip end and a connector portion; and a handle. One end of the handle is configured to be affixed to the connector portion of the hollow needle. The opposite end of the handle is capable of being attached to an endodontic handpiece or a sonic agitator for the activation. The connector portion includes at least one tube connector that is an integral part of the connector portion of the hollow needle or a plurality of openings on the connector portion to accommodate the hollow needle to a connector. The connector is a modular fluid delivery connector which is removable from the needle such that it can be reused.
Dental handpiece that has flush capability
A dental handpiece system includes a dental handpiece for operating a dental burr and providing a stream of water to the dental burr for cooling a tooth being acted upon by the dental burr. The dental handpiece further includes a flush water port for providing a flush water stream that is directed away from the dental burr to allow the dentist to flush a work site in a patient's mouth. The dental handpiece can also include an air outlet for providing a stream of air that is also not directed to the dental burr and that can be used to dry other dental instruments as well as work sites in the patient's mouth.
DENTAL HANDPIECE FOR DRILLING AND SUCTIONING
A dental handpiece for drilling and suctioning includes a handle including multiple tubes extending along the handle from a first end of the handle to a second end of the handle. The dental handpiece also includes a head, connected to the first end of the handle, including a fluid nozzle connected to a first tube and a turbine operatively connected to an attachment unit to engage a dental burr and a second tube. The dental handpiece further includes a suction system, attached to the head, for suctioning inside an oral cavity including a suction head. The suction head is connected to a third tube via a 360-degree rotation tube configured to rotate the suction head. The second end of the handle and the multiple tubes are configured to engage in a main dental instrument.
