Orthodontic Appliance for Use During Orthognathic Surgery and Method for Using the Same
A device and method for performing orthodontic decompensation before orthognathic surgery without the aid of braces. The device includes an archwire coupled at either end to a band which is in turn adhered to the first molars of a patient. Disposed along the length of the archwire is a plurality of fixtures which may include a plurality of hooks that work in conjunction with elastics or other components used during the orthognathic procedure. The archwire is formed around the patient's teeth so as to be passive and maintain the patient's current orthodontic treatment progress. The device may be placed on either or both of the upper and lower teeth of the patient before the orthognathic procedure thereby ensuring that the teeth will not move during or after the surgery during the recovery process and that required surgical splints will still fit.
Orthodontic bracket
An orthodontic bracket assembly includes a mounting plate configured to be coupled to a tooth and a bracket member. The bracket member has a first portion generally extending in a first direction, a second portion generally extending in a second direction opposite to the first direction, and a slot defined intermediate the first and second portions. The slot is configured to receive a wire. Additionally, each of the first and second portions includes a curved surface defining an entrance of the slot.
Orthodontic anchor system
An orthodontic anchor system may include an anchor system having an anchor system distal end and an anchor system proximal end. The anchor system may include an aligner receptacle, an aligner housing, an anchor mechanism, and an elastic band receptacle. The aligner housing may be configured to house an aligner. The anchor mechanism may be configured to house an elastic band. The aligner housing may be configured to house the aligner without requiring a modification of the aligner.
Bracket system
A bracket system for orthodontic appliances including a bracket combinatorial library having a plurality of brackets each interchangeably fixedly mountable to each of a plurality of teeth within a dentition group in a dental arch, whereby the plurality of brackets can be configured to provide incremental variation in tipping force moments, in-out force moments, and torqueing force moments over the entire useful range of orthodontic mechanics, allowing an orthodontic practitioner to prescribe a combination of tipping force moments, in-out force moments, and torqueing force moments unique for each tooth in relation to the plurality of teeth of a patient.
Self-ligating bracket with cantilever locking beam mechanism and other locking elements for ligating sliding members, and methods of making and use thereof
A self-ligating bracket system comprising a body, an archwire slot receivable for an archwire, and a locking mechanism, the locking mechanism configured to allow a ligating sliding member to move between an open position, such that an archwire may be inserted into and/or removed from the archwire slot, and a closed position, such that an archwire is retained within the archwire slot.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR MOVING TEETH
The application provides a system for repositioning teeth from an initial tooth arrangement to a final tooth arrangement and methods of making and using the same. The system includes: a) at least two first appliances which are duplicate of each other having a geometry selected to reposition the teeth from the initial tooth arrangement to a first intermediate arrangement or the final tooth arrangement; b) one or more intermediate appliances having geometries selected to progressively reposition the teeth from the first intermediate arrangement to successive intermediate arrangements including a last intermediate tooth arrangement, each of the one or more intermediate appliances having at least one duplicate of itself; and c) at least two final appliances which are duplicate of each other having a geometry to progressively reposition the teeth from the initial tooth arrangement or the last intermediate arrangement to the final tooth arrangement.
ORTHODONTIC ELASTIC ATTACHMENTS FOR USE WITH DENTAL ALIGNERS
Provided herein are exemplary orthodontic elastic attachments that are customized to fit within the cutout windows of dental aligners, thus improving adhesion and minimizing inadvertent detachment from the tooth surface. The unique base pads are designed to have a shape that complements the present shape of the cutout windows like a puzzle piece. To improve adhesion to the tooth surface, the base pad may have its surface area maximized within the cutout windows. Also for improved adhesion, the base pad may be contoured to the dental anatomy of the tooth at the gumline for an intimate fit. Further exemplary embodiments may include the base pad having beveled edges to permit the aligner to slide over the base pad if it is adhered slightly off-center.
Orthodontic appliance
The invention relates to an orthodontic device which is particularly economical and as small as possible, and which has hooks and a small tube, produced from a sheet metal plate using stamping and bending techniques and without the use of welding or soldering. The orthodontic device comprises a base plate having a flat region with a gingival and an occlusal edge. An occlusal rolling forms the small tube. The gingival edge has a counter-directional rolling. Concave cuts are formed in the side edges in order to form wing-shaped hooks. Both rollings can hold an applicator/protector, with which the orthodontic device is protected during adhesion, and can then be applied to a tooth in the correct orientation.
ORTHODONTIC SPACE CLOSURE DEVICE
An orthodontic space closure device is provided, including a first tooth cap unit, a second tooth cap unit, and a number of elastic members. The first tooth cap unit is configured to be removably worn on the anterior teeth of a dental arch of a patient. At least one first connector is fixed on each buccal side of the first tooth cap unit. The second tooth cap unit is configured to be removably worn on the posterior teeth of the dental arch. A vertical extension part is formed on each buccal side of the second tooth cap unit, and at least one second connector is fixed on each vertical extension part. The elastic members couple the first connectors to the second connectors, thereby exerting elastic traction forces having horizontal and vertical components on the first tooth cap unit to achieve retraction and intrusion of the anterior teeth.
ORTHODONTIC CORRECTION DEVICE
An orthodontic correction device is provided, including a shell having a number of teeth receiving cavities configured to receive teeth of a dental arch of a patient. A first elastic member holding feature is formed on one side of the shell and corresponds to an undercut region of a tooth of the dental arch. A first orthodontic elastic member is coupled to the first elastic member holding feature and extends to the interior of the shell to engage with the undercut region of the tooth, thereby enhancing the retention of the orthodontic correction device on the dental arch.
