Embodiments are generally directed to a snap button fastener providing electrical connection. An embodiment of a fastener includes a first mechanical part, the first mechanical part including at least a stud portion, the first mechanical part including a first electrical connector; a second mechanical part, the second mechanical part including at least a socket portion with a spring element and the socket portion, the second mechanical part including a second electrical connector. The stud portion of the first mechanical part and the socket portion of second mechanical part, if separated, are to interlock upon the application of a first force towards each other, and, if interlocked, to separate upon the application of a second force away from each other. The first electrical connector and the second electrical connector are to be electrically connected when the first mechanical part and the mechanical part are interlocked, and first electrical connector and the second electrical connector are to be disconnected when the first mechanical part and second mechanical part are separated.

A device for opening/closing an article includes an assembly button and a clasp casing with a mechanism including a housing, locking member and latch; the mechanism structured so with the housing in a first position and the button is inserted into the casing, the locking member immobilizes the button at least with respect to translation, when the housing is made to rotate and passes from its first to a second position, the member is moved until the button is released and the latch is driven with translational movement into the casing until the button is pushed out of the casing and the housing and the member are immobilized, when the button is reinserted into the casing, it pushes the latch which releases the housing, which is rotated and passes from its second to first position and the member is moved until the button is immobilized with respect to translation.

A female member (1) of a snap fastener includes a main body (2) made of a metal and having a cylindrical tube portion (23) and a dish-shaped portion (22), a resin spring (3) housed in the main body (2), and a surface covering member (4) crimped onto the cylindrical tube portion (23). The resin spring (3) is a resin plate that can be housed in the main body (2), and the resin plate has a slot (35, 35A, 35B, 35C) at a central portion thereof. A method for attaching a first surface to a second surface with a fastening device. The fastening device has a female component having a female opening featuring a broader female width at a first depth and a narrower female width at a second depth. The female component also has a female attachment surface with an interior slope rising away from the female opening. The fastening device also has a male component with a male attachment member that at least partially conforms to the interior slope of the female attachment surface. The male attachment member also has a broader male width larger than the narrower female width. The method comprises mounting the female component to the first surface, mounting the male component to the second surface, aligning the male component to the interior slope on the female component and applying pressure to couple the male component and the female component.

This invention relates to a modular dog toy comprising three disparately sized and shaped components, each having a hollow cavity for the reception of foodstuffs. The components each comprise a male connector and a female connector. One of the components has at least one additional connector about its surface. These three disparate components may be connected in a variety of different configurations to modify the difficulty of obtaining the food for the dog. This allows the modular dog toy to be tailored to suit the requirements and physical abilities of the dog.

A snap-type fastener arrangement includes various elements. For example, the snap-type fastener arrangement includes a socket component and a stud component. The stud component is insertable into the socket component to releasably couple two items together.
