USING AN INTRAORAL MIRROR WITH AN INTEGRATED CAMERA TO RECORD DENTAL STATUS, AND APPLICATIONS THEREOF
Disclosed embodiments integrate a camera into an intraoral mirror. Integrating a camera into an intraoral mirror provides an efficient way to record and display what is visible to the healthcare provider in the mirror.
ESTIMATING A SURFACE TEXTURE OF A TOOTH
Embodiments for estimating a surface texture of a tooth are described herein. One method embodiment includes collecting a sequence of images utilizing multiple light conditions using an intra-oral imaging device and estimating the surface texture of the tooth based on the sequence of images.
ALIGNMENT OF THREE-DIMENSIONAL DATA COLLECTED IN DENTAL SESSIONS, AND APPLICATIONS THEREOF
Disclosed embodiments integrate a camera into an intraoral mirror. Integrating a camera into an intraoral mirror provides an efficient way to record and display what is visible to the healthcare provider in the mirror.
Method and system for three-dimensional imaging
A method for three-dimensional imaging stores a first image of field of view from a handheld optical coherence tomography (OCT) scanning device at a first position where a first OCT scan of an object is captured with the scanning device freely operated by a user. A location metric of a second image of field of view of the scanning device is estimated at a second position relative to the first image while the scanning device is moved from the first to the second position. Instructions on providing user feedback are generated based on the location metric. Feedback is provided to indicate if the second position is adequate for a second OCT scan, wherein providing feedback includes providing user perceivable light of a first color to indicate that the second position is adequate and providing user perceivable light of a second color to indicate that the second position is not adequate.
FOCUS SCANNING APPARATUS RECORDING COLOR
Disclosed are a scanner system and a method for recording surface geometry and surface color of an object where both surface geometry information and surface color information for a block of the image sensor pixels at least partly from one 2D image recorded by the color image sensor. A particular application is within dentistry, particularly for intraoral scanning.
Curing dental material using lights affixed to an intraoral mirror, and applications thereof
Disclosed embodiments integrate a camera into an intraoral mirror. Integrating a camera into an intraoral mirror provides an efficient way to record and display what is visible to the healthcare provider in the mirror.
INTRAORAL SCANNING WITH SURFACE DIFFERENTIATION
A method for generating a digital 3D representation of at least a part of an intraoral cavity, the method including recording a plurality of views containing surface data representing at least the geometry of surface points of the part of the intraoral cavity using an intraoral scanner; determining a weight for each surface point at least partly based on scores that are measures of belief of that surface point representing a particular type of surface; executing a stitching algorithm that performs weighted stitching of the surface points in said plurality of views to generate the digital 3D representation based on the determined weights; wherein the scores for the surface points are found by at least one score-finding algorithm that takes as input at least the geometry part of the surface data for that surface point and surface data for points in a neighbourhood of that surface point.
Measuring apparatus and method for three-dimensional measurement of an oral cavity
Apparatus for three-dimensionally measuring a row of teeth, having, on a shaft, an autonomously movable measuring head including a central measuring member and at least two lateral measuring members movably interconnected and defining a variable measurement space. The head, placed on a row of teeth, is guided therealong using guiding elements. Measuring units in the measuring members measure structures in the measurement space. Measurements are taken from multiple solid angle positions of the measuring units, the positions being preset in the measuring members, being adjusted by moving the measuring members, being taken by having mirrors move, in a controlled manner, the beam path generated by the measuring units, or being aligned by changing the angular position of the head relative to the shaft in an automatically controlled manner.
