The present disclosure relates to holders for protecting intraocular lenses and methods of use. The holder includes a posterior wall and an annular wall extending anteriorly from the posterior wall and having an anterior edge. An internal space is defined by the posterior wall and the annular wall. The internal space is sized to receive a lens body of the intraocular lens. The holder also includes a locking feature configured to secure the intraocular lens. At least a portion of the locking feature is anterior to the intraocular lens when positioned in the holder.

The present invention relates to a container system (200) for storing an intraocular lens (90). The container system (200) comprises a container (210) for storing a lens (90) and a heating device (220) for heating the lens (90) in the container (210). A heated lens (90) is more supple and can be rolled up better and smaller, such that a cut opening in an eye can be further reduced.

SYSTEMS TO AFFIX DEVICES TO INTRAOCULAR LENS ASSEMBLIES AND RELATED METHODS

Embodiments disclosed herein relate to systems and methods for securing a drug delivery component to an intraocular lens (IOL) assembly. The systems generally include a support base and a plunger. The support base includes a first portion configured to accommodate a drug delivery component; and a second portion configured to act as a plunger guide. The plunger can be inserted into the plunger guide such that the plunger is positioned to interface with a drug delivery component and an IOL assembly during use. The plunger includes an elongated body and a tip, wherein the tip can include a ramp configured to interface with a fixation loop of a drug delivery component during use and a compartment configured to interface with a haptic of an IOL assembly during use.

CARTRIDGE AND INJECTOR WITH THE CARTRIDGE

A cartridge includes a first opening, a second opening, a channel, an intraocular lens arranged in the channel, and a cartridge plunger arranged in the channel and configured to firstly preload the intraocular lens by moving the cartridge plunger towards the first opening, then to fold the lens by moving it in the tapered region, and finally to push the lens out of the channel via the first opening. The cartridge is configured to be coupled to a syringe such that a fluid can be injected into the channel, and as a result the cartridge plunger can be propelled in a movement direction towards the first opening. The cartridge plunger includes a first cartridge plunger longitudinal end, a second cartridge plunger longitudinal end, and a fluid line via which the fluid can be injected from the second to the first cartridge plunger longitudinal end and finally to the intraocular lens.

IOL injector having a collapsible mechanism and/or a lever-driven rack and pinion

An IOL injector having a collapsible mechanism and/or a lever-driven rack and pinion is described.

Combination of Lens Holder and Lens Injector Cartridge for Intraocular Lens With Multiple Optical Elements

The present invention relates to a combination of a lens, a lens holder and a lens injector cartridge for an intraocular lens with multiple optical components. The lens holder is provided with coupling means, to couple the lens holder to the lens injector cartridge or where the lens holder is integrally formed with the lens injector cartridge. The lens injector cartridge includes a loading chamber to receive the lens. The lens holder includes a spacer component, where the spacer component is to be coupled to the lens where the spacer component separates at least two optical components of the intraocular lens.

Method for intraocular lens injector assembly having shuttle assembly retaining intraocular lens in storage vial and operably presenting intraocular lens in injector assembly

A shuttle, vial and injector are provided for storing and presenting an IOL to a patient. The shuttle includes operably engaged shuttle plates having a set of confronting surfaces that flex about a flexure interface between a storage configuration, with at least an optic of an IOL in a nominal state and a loading configuration, with at least an optic of an IOL in a deformed state. The vial engages the shuttle and maintains the shuttle in the storage configuration. The injector receives the shuttle from the vial and includes surfaces for flexing the portions of the shuttle plates to the loading configuration upon engagement with the injector, wherein the shuttle plates impart a predetermined curvature to at least a portion of the IOL.
