An intraocular lens insertion device and a cartridge which enable the intraocular lens to be inserted into an eye more stably and easily than ever before. A supporting portion 102 of an intraocular lens 100 arranged on a lens-advancing side in a lens-advancing direction x is pressed against a protrusion 21 so as to be bent backward. Thus, releasing the intraocular lens 100 from a nozzle portion 13 is allowed to begin with the releasing of a curved portion of the supporting portion 102 that has become U-shaped and hard to move freely. As a result, there can be provided an intraocular lens insertion device and a cartridge which enable the intraocular lens 100 to be inserted into an eye more steadily and easily than ever before.

Packaging-integrated manually actuated intraocular lens cartridge

Systems, methods, and apparatuses for storing and/or shipping an intraocular lens (IOL) cartridge are provided. A system comprises the IOL cartridge. The IOL cartridge comprises a nozzle and a compartment comprising an IOL. The nozzle is in fluid communication with the compartment. The IOL cartridge further comprises a dial disposed adjacent to the compartment, wherein an inner surface of the dial is exposed to the compartment. The dial is configured to fold the IOL upon rotation of the dial. The IOL cartridge further comprises a plunger case in fluid communication with the compartment, wherein a plunger is movably disposed within the plunger case. The IOL cartridge is configured to removably attach to a handpiece. The system further comprises a packaging comprising a base, wherein the IOL cartridge is disposed within the base; a first removable cover configured to cover a first portion of the IOL cartridge; and a second removable cover configured to cover a second portion of the IOL cartridge, wherein the second removable cover is locked in place by the dial when the dial is in a non-rotated position.

A method for providing automatic placement of a lens in a cartridge is provided. The method includes seizing, by a nozzle head of a lifting tool, the lens from a pick position of a platform based on an air flow through the nozzle head and depositing, by the lifting tool, the lens at a delivery point in the cartridge by changing the air flow through the nozzle head. The method includes determining, by a processor coupled to the lifting tool, a location of a haptic of the lens with respect to a feature of the cartridge. The method includes adjusting, by the lifting tool, the haptic from the location to a target orientation on the cartridge when the location of the haptic is determined to be misaligned with the feature. The method can be implemented as an apparatus, a system, and/or a computer program product.

IMPLANT APPLICATORS

An intracameral injector needle having a substantially cylindrical body defining a longitudinal flow path therein, and having a proximal end, a distal end, an outer peripheral face and a bevel region. A first bevel of the bevel region has a first bevel angle with respect to the outer peripheral face. A second bevel of the bevel region extends from the first bevel to the proximal end. The second bevel includes a tip of the intracameral injector needle, and has a second bevel angle with respect to the outer peripheral face, where the second bevel angle is different from the first bevel angle, the first bevel and the second bevel defining a transition therebetween. The transition is at least one of: (1) longitudinally positioned between the tip of the intracameral injector needle and a location of a maximum width of the bevel region; and (2) vertically disposed at a position below 50% of a maximum height of the bevel region.
