Valve leaflet attachment in collapsible prosthetic valves
A prosthetic heart valve includes a stent having a collapsed condition and an expanded condition. The stent includes a plurality of cells, each cell being formed by a plurality of struts, and a plurality of commissure features. The heart valve further includes a valve assembly secured to the stent and including a cuff and a plurality of leaflets, each leaflet being attached to adjacent commissure features and to the stent struts and/or the cuff.
HEART VALVE
A prosthetic heart valve includes a radially expandable annular frame and a valve body disposed inside the frame. The valve body includes three leaflets configured to regulate the flow of blood through the frame in one direction. The prosthetic heart valve also includes an annular inner skirt secured to an inner surface of the frame. The inner skirt, has an inflow edge oriented toward an inflow end of the frame, an outflow edge oriented toward an outflow end of the frame, and first and second lateral edges extending from the inflow edge to the outflow edge, wherein the first lateral edge and the second lateral edge are secured together. The first lateral edge and the second lateral edge are oriented at an oblique angle relative to a plane that is perpendicular to a central longitudinal axis of the frame.
Methods for improved prosthetic heart valve with leaflet shelving
Described embodiments are directed toward prosthetic valve leaflets of particular configurations that control bending character. In embodiments provided herein, a valve leaflet is provided with a planar zone that is bounded at a planar zone base by a straight line, wherein the leaflet is operable to bend along a base of the planar zone.
Prosthetic heart valve with retention elements
Described embodiments are directed toward centrally-opening leaflet prosthetic valve devices having a leaflet frame and a leaflet construct. The leaflet construct is at least partially coupled to a leaflet frame outer side of the leaflet frame and being coupled thereto by a retention element.
HEART VALVE PROSTHESIS, ARTIFICIAL VALVE FORMED BY SAME, AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREFOR
A heart valve prosthesis includes a support element of a tubular structure, and at least two lobule bodies connected to the inner wall of the support element, wherein the support element comprises an outer layer fabric having selvages on opposite sides, and a suture line for fixing the other two sides of the outer layer fabric to each other to form the tubular structure; each of the lobule bodies is formed by stacking at least one lobule layer; and the opposite sides of the lobule body are respectively an interwoven side and a free side, with the interwoven side being fixed between the two selvages of the outer layer fabric by means of weaving, and the free side being a selvage. An artificial valve formed by same, and a preparation method therefor are also disclosed.
Automated sewing and thread management
The present disclosure relates to automated systems, devices, and methods of sewing a target device such as a prosthetic implant device. The systems and methods include forming a stitch on the target device, adjusting a thread coupled to a needle used to form the stitch so that the thread is clear of (e.g., does not interfere with) a path of the needle, and applying a targeted tension to the thread to tension the stitch on the target device. The suturing process can also include providing different targeted tensions during formation of the stitch. The suturing process can also include providing different targeted tensions at different stages of the formation of the stitch to aid in forming the stitch, to clear the needle path of the thread, and/or to hold the stitch in place in preparation for the next stitch.
CLAMPS FOR COUPLING EXPANSION AND LOCKING ASSEMBLIES TO FRAMES OF PROSTHETIC VALVES
The present disclosure relates to implantable, mechanically expandable prosthetic devices, such as prosthetic heart valves, and to devices and methods for coupling expansion and locking assemblies to frames of such prosthetic devices.
Temporary Disposable Scaffold Stand and Tools to Facilitate Reconstructive Valve Surgery
A device for joining individual leaflets for repairing a cardiac valve of a patient has a base and projection fingers rising from the base to support adjacent leaflets for tacking together by sewing overlapping edges of adjacent leaflets prior to emplacement into the patient. The invention provides a cutting tool for excising leaflets from a pericardial tissue sheet according to predetermined sizes and shapes. A leaflet having a desired contour and size is obtained by pressing the tool formed as a cutter block against the tissue sheet. A set of blocks can be provided wherein each cutter block has an outer edge following a respective contour and size for a leaflet, and wherein the outer edge includes a raised cutting edge for pressing through the pericardial tissue sheet. The blocks can be held in a press for assisting in pushing the cutting edge through the tissue.
COMMISSURE ATTACHEMENT FEATUR HAVING MULTIPLE BODIES
A prosthetic heart valve includes a collapsible and expandable stent extending in a longitudinal direction between an inflow end and an outflow end, the stent including a plurality of struts defining a plurality of cells, and a plurality of commissure attachment features disposed on the stent, each commissure attachment feature having a first end, a second end opposite the first end, and at least two bodies connected via one or more suspension struts, each of the at least two bodies having at least one eyelet.
Frame for an implantable medical device and a method of manufacturing a frame for an implantable medical device
A frame for an implantable medical device, comprising: a first member, comprising a plurality of struts defining a plurality of cells, wherein the first member is annular and defines a longitudinal direction which is parallel to the axis of the first member, a radial direction, and a circumferential direction; a second member, comprising a plurality of struts and coupled to the first member at circumferentially distributed locations; wherein the second member overlaps a first end portion of the first member and extends beyond the first end portion of the first member.
