Surface fastener
12129885 · 2024-10-29 · ·

The surface fastener includes a base portion, a fastener member that includes a plurality of engagement elements, and a masking member that is detachably held by the fastener member. The masking member covers an engaging area of the fastener member, at least a part of the engaging element is embedded in the masking member. A space portion is provided between the base portion and the masking member in the engaging area. Thus, a foam resin can be prevented from intruding the engaging area of the fastener member in foam-molding of the cushion body. The masking member is also easily peeled off from the fastener member after foam-molding.

RFID ENHANCED FIXTURING APPARATUS

A fixturing apparatus that includes a housing defining an interior space and having a trapezoidal cross-section, a first end, and an opposing second end, and is formed to include an aperture extending therethrough from the first end to said second end. The fixturing apparatus further comprises a flexible strap and a radio-frequency identification (RFID) chip to allow identifying and tracking the fixturing apparatus.

DIMENSIONALLY FLEXIBLE TOUCH FASTENER STRIP
20180084870 · 2018-03-29 ·

A fastening strip for touch fasteners is provided which includes a corrugated portion as well as fastening elements. The corrugated portion allows the strip to be bent in a plane perpendicular as well as parallel with the longitudinal axis of the strip such that it may be applied to curved surfaces and remain substantially flat. Fastening elements such as hooks, loops, mushroom-shaped, bulbous and double hooks may be included on both sides of the strip and on the walls of the channels that form the corrugations as well as between the corrugations. The corrugated fastening strips may be useful for automotive seating and diaper applications. Processes for forming the corrugated fastening strip area also disclosed.

A method of making a sheet-form loop-engageable fastener product includes placing a layer of staple fibers on a first side of a substrate, needling fibers of the layer through the substrate to form loops extending from a second side of the substrate, removing end regions from at least some of the loops to form stems, and forming loop-engageable heads at free ends of at least some of the stems.

Self-sealing fastener and garment

This invention relates to a fastener assembly and a garment comprising same, comprising a first fastener tape and a second fastener tapes having a row of cooperating fastener elements mounted thereon attached to first and second closing tapes, the first and second closing tapes folded parallel to the row of cooperating fastener elements such that when the fastener is closed, and a meshed area of fastener elements from the first and second fastener tapes is formed, i) the external edges of each of the first and second closing tapes overlap, ii) the external edge of the first closing tape fully covers the meshed area of fastening elements, and iii) the overlap of the external edge of the first closing tape by the external edge of the second closing tape extends past the meshed area of fastening elements.

Mold-in touch fastener systems with wave-shaped wall
09635910 · 2017-05-02 · ·

A touch fastener strip includes a pair of longitudinal barrier walls each extending upward from a base, a plurality of lateral barrier walls each extending upward from the base and between facing surfaces of the barrier walls, thereby defining one or more fastening cells, and a pair of wave walls each extending upward from the base and outboard the barrier walls thereby defining a relief space. Each wave wall has a wave shape having rising and falling edges, at least one of the edges having a slope in the range of 3 to 65. In some cases, the wave shape has a duty cycle of 40% to 60%, and may include a sine wave, a triangle wave, a ramp wave, and/or a bi-modal wave having two different peak points in a given cycle of the shape. In one example application, the strip may be anchored in a foam cushion product.

Covering system for insulation devices on (load-bearing) structures

A covering system for insulation devices (2) on (load-bearing) structures has a connecting device (24) including a carrier surface (28) with touch-and-close fastener elements (30) that can be connected to correspondingly designed touch-and-close fastener elements (22). A reactive functional surface (36) is fitted, as a further component of the connecting device (24), on the side (34) of the carrier surface (28) directed away from the touch-and-close fastener elements (30). The reactive functional surface bonds permanently, under predeterminable shaping pressure and at a predeterminable reaction temperature, to a preferably closed-cell foam material (4; 26) of the insulation device (2).
