Enhanced fragmented sector level sweep procedure in MMW WLAN systems
An enhanced sector level sweep procedure is provided herein. A method may include transmitting a plurality of beacon frames in a corresponding plurality of transmit sectors, wherein the plurality of beacon frames are transmitted within a beacon interval. The method may include receiving, from a second communication device, a first transmission including information indicating a first ranking. The first ranking is based on a characteristic of at least a first subset of the transmit sectors. The first transmission is received in a sector corresponding to one of the first subset of transmit sectors. The method may include receiving, from a third communication device, a second transmission including information indicating a second ranking. The second ranking is based on a characteristic of at least a second subset of the transmit sectors. The second transmission is received in a sector corresponding to one of the second subset of transmit sectors.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR POLARIZATION ADAPTATION TO REDUCE PROPAGATION LOSS FOR A MULTIPLE-INPUT-MULTIPLE-OUTPUT (MIMO) ANTENNA
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, forming one or more downlink (DL) beams associated with subarrays of an antenna, performing signal transmissions using the one or more DL beams, and performing polarization adjusting for signals associated with the one or more DL beams such that each of the signals is oriented in a particular polarization, thereby improving signal reception by user equipment (UEs) associated with the one or more DL beams. Other embodiments are disclosed.
BEAM CONFIGURATION
An apparatus comprising means for: changing an antenna configuration of the apparatus used to enable operation of the apparatus as a first node of a radio telecommunication network; creating an antenna configuration correction index (ACCI) of the first node; providing the antenna configuration correction index of the first node for use in a beam selection procedure for enabling data communication by the first node.
BEAM AND SECONDARY COMPONENT CARRIER SELECTION FOR DOWNLINK AND UPLINK
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may perform first measurements associated with secondary component carriers (SCCs) for downlink and perform second measurements associated with beams. The UE may select a downlink SCC in frequency range 2 (FR2) as a first anchor CC with a primary component carrier (PCC) from frequency range 1 (FR1), from the SCCs for downlink, based on the first measurements, in combination with a downlink beam based on the second measurements. The UE may perform third measurements associated with SCCs for uplink and perform fourth measurements associated with the beams. The UE may select an uplink SCC in FR2 as a second anchor CC with the PCC from FR1, from the SCCs for uplink, based on the third measurements, in combination with an uplink beam based on the fourth measurements. Numerous other aspects are described.
DOPPLER-BASED BEAM TRAINING INTERVAL ADAPTATION
According to an aspect, there is provided an apparatus for performing the following. The apparatus obtains predicted Doppler spectrum information for a propagation channel between a first terminal device and one of an access node or a second terminal device calculated using a radio-aware digital twin. The predicted Doppler spectrum information includes information on one or more Doppler frequencies of a predicted Doppler spectrum resulting from reflections from one or more terminal devices capable of movement under control of the digital twin. The apparatus causes performing of measurements of one or more reference signals by a device associated with the propagation channel to a form a channel estimate. The apparatus calculates a measured Doppler spectrum based on the channel estimate and filters out the one or more Doppler frequencies from it. The apparatus adjusts a beam refinement interval of the device based on the filtered measured Doppler spectrum.
BEAM STEERING METHOD AND DEVICE USING FREQUENCY MODULATION AND PHASE SHIFT
The present invention relates to a beam steering device of a phased array antenna for reducing a grating lobe, and more particularly, to a beam steering device of a phased array antenna for reducing a grating lobe so that grating lobes generated when receiving a signal by rotating an array of a plurality of antenna elements at a predetermined angle during transmission do not overlap each other when receiving the signal through the beam steering device.
BEAM CHANGE
Method, apparatus, and computer program product for a user equipment to receive a downlink control information message from an access point in a wireless communications network and to echo a new beam index in the PUCCH feedback resource in response to the message indicating a PUCCH feedback resource and containing a beam change indication or in response to the message indicating a downlink grant containing a beam change indication MAC control element but no CSI-feedback is scheduled for the PUCCH feedback resource. If a scheduling request resource is indicated by the message or the MAC control element, the user equipment is triggered to transmit a scheduling request on that indicated scheduling request resource. If a scheduling request resource is not indicated by the message or the MAC control element, the user equipment is triggered to perform a scheduling request procedure on a periodic scheduling request resource.
CHANNEL STATE FEEDBACK REPORTING DURING BEAM REFINEMENT
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may perform beam refinement procedures for a first set of beams and a second set of beams. The first set of beams corresponds to a first set of synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) of a serving cell and the second set of beams corresponds to a second set of SSBs of the serving cell. The UE may transmit a message indicating channel state feedback (CSF) including either a first power metric for the first set of SSBs or both the first power metric and a second power metric for the second set of SSBs. The power metric(s) included in the CSF may be based on a first refinement status for the first set of SSBs as well as a second refinement status for the second set of SSBs or the second power metric satisfying a threshold.
MULTIPLE ACCESS POINT (AP) ASSOCIATION
Aspects of the disclosure are directed to an apparatus configured for wireless communication. In certain aspects, the apparatus is configured to obtain, from a network node, a first codeword indicating a first incident direction of a first beam and a first reflected direction of a second beam, the first codeword being one of at least one codeword of a stage-1 codebook. In certain aspects, the apparatus is configured to obtain, from the network node, a second codeword of a stage-2 codebook, the stage-2 codebook being associated with the first codeword, the second codeword indicating a parameter of the second beam. In certain aspects, the apparatus is configured to update the second beam according to the parameter indicated by the second codeword.
