The electronic device comprises: a processing circuit, configured to: acquire, from a base station, configuration information containing a first candidate beam set for beam failure recovery, the first candidate beam set comprising candidate beams of a serving cell and candidate beams of a non-serving cell; and determine, on the basis of the first candidate beam set and/or a second candidate beam set, an identification candidate beam to be used for beam failure recovery, the second candidate beam set comprising beams which serve as candidate beams of the non-serving cell and are detected by user equipment.

A candidate beam measurement method includes: measuring, by a terminal, a candidate beam within a preset time period following configuration information being received, where the configuration information includes configuration information of a reference signal of the candidate beam; and reporting, by the terminal, first indication information to a network-side device according to a measurement result, or prohibiting reporting of first indication information according to a measurement result, where the first indication information is used for indicating the measurement result.

A terminal according to an aspect of the present disclosure includes: a control section that determines beam failure recovery (BFR) to be applied to a cell from physical random access channel (PRACH)-based BFR and medium access control control element (MAC CE)-based BFR on the basis of a radio resource control (RRC) parameter regarding MAC CE-based BFR; and a transmitting section that, when a BF is detected in the cell, performs transmission for the determined BFR. According to an aspect of the present disclosure, a BFR operation can be suitably performed in the case where MAC CE-based BFR is introduced.

Beam Failure Detection and Recovery Procedures in Wireless Networks
A wireless device receives, via a serving cell with a first physical cell identity (PCI) and used for carrier aggregation, configuration parameters for a beam failure detection and recovery procedure. The configuration parameters indicate a beam failure detection reference signal (RS) set associated with: a second PCI of a non-serving cell associated with transmission reception points (TRPs), and a TRP index of a first TRP of the TRPs of the non-serving cell. The wireless device detects a beam failure for the first TRP of the TRPs of the non-serving cell based on the beam failure detection RS set. The wireless device transmits, via the serving cell and in response to the detecting, one or more uplink signals indicating the beam failure for the non-serving cell.

The method further includes determining, based on the UL TCI state or the joint DL and UL TCI state for the PUCCH, a first beam failure detection (BFD) reference signal (RS) to monitor and monitoring for an UL beam failure based on the first BFD RS.
