Wireless local area network communications with varying subcarrier spacings
An operation method of station in wireless local area network is provided. The operation method includes generating a legacy preamble, generating a high efficiency (HE) preamble including at least one HE-signal (HE-SIG) field, a HE-short training field (HE-STF), and at least one HE-long training field (HE-LTF), and generating a HE physical layer convergence procedure protocol data unit (HE-PPDU) including the legacy preamble and the HE preamble. Therefore, performance of WLAN can be enhanced.
Antenna swapping methods including comparing performance characteristics of first and second antennas, and related portable electronic devices
An antenna switching method includes tuning respective signals provided to first and second antennas in a portable electronic device to at least one frequency band. The method may also include connecting the first antenna to an uplink signal path that is for transmissions through the first and second antennas, and performing impedance matching for the first antenna. The method may further include comparing a real-time performance characteristic of the first antenna with a real-time performance characteristic of the second antenna. The method may additionally include, responsive to determining that the second antenna has a stronger real-time performance characteristic than the first antenna while the first antenna is connected to the uplink signal path, switching from the first antenna to the second antenna by connecting the second antenna to the uplink signal path and disconnecting the first antenna from the uplink signal path, and performing impedance matching for the second antenna.
Wireless network receiver
A wireless network receiver includes a detection module that uses preamble data in a data frame for signal processing functions and the detection module is configured to adjust the number of preamble data bits that are used based on the power of a received signal.
Receive antenna selection/combining of receive antennas using fewer number of receive chains
Methods and apparatus for performing receive antenna diversity measurements in measurement gaps are provided. One embodiment may include communicating with a serving base station using a first set of one or more receive antennas during a normal operational period, performing receive antenna diversity measurements with a second set of one or more receive antennas during a measurement gap between normal operational periods, and selecting one or more receive antennas for at least one of use and/or combining, based on the receive antenna diversity measurements.
Conditional Handover Configurations of Beams of a Cell
A wireless device receives at least one radio resource control (RRC) configuration message comprising an execution condition for a handover to a cell. The at least one RRC configuration message comprises a plurality of parameters indicating: a channel state information-reference signal (CSI-RS) of the cell; a radio resource; and a preamble index indicating a preamble for a random access to the cell. The execution condition comprises the CSI-RS of the cell becoming better than a first value and the reference signal of a primary cell of the wireless device becoming worse than a second value. The wireless device measures the CSI-RS via the radio resource and determines that the execution condition for the handover is met. Based on the determining, the wireless device sends the preamble for the random access. The wireless device sends an RRC reconfiguration complete message associated with executing the handover to the cell.
