An image display device reproducing an image displayed according to operations performed consecutively is provided. The device includes an extraction portion extracting, from the operations, a plurality of times of first operations to scroll through the image, and a position at which an operation is made in a display surface of an object selected from the image through second operation performed after the plurality of times of first operations; and a reproduction portion that reproduces the image in accordance with the operations in such a manner that scrolling through the image is omitted or shortened in accordance with a target operation which is any one of a specific operation and a subsequent first operation among the plurality of times of first operations. The specific operation is to scroll through the image in a manner to move the object from one side to the other side when viewed from the position.

An operation panel used in an image forming apparatus has a panel face, a semi-transparent member of a black or similar color, and a light source. The panel face has an operation region. The semi-transparent member is arranged such that its top face is approximately flush with the panel face at least along a peripheral part of it. The light source is arranged under the semi-transparent member in the peripheral part of the panel face.

A communication terminal device includes: an application acquisition section that acquires an application prepared to operate an image forming apparatus; an instruction acceptance section that accepts an operation instruction for processing indicated by the application; a processing executing section that makes the application runnable under an operating system of the communication terminal device and executes, in accordance with the application, the processing indicated by the operation instruction accepted by the instruction acceptance section; and a communication section that sends to the image forming apparatus a result of the processing executed by the processing executing section and an operation request.

A system and method for generating customized user interface on a multifunction peripheral. The multifunction peripheral has an intelligent controller with a processor and memory, and a document processing engine with functional subsystems subject to software control by the intelligent controller. The intelligent controller functions as a webserver operating through a network interface. A variety of device control applications are stored with each applications configured to engage a corresponding subset of the functional subsystems. Image files generate an interface image corresponding to a device control application on a touchscreen multifunction peripheral interface. The webserver receives selection data corresponding to at least one selected device control application from an associated web client and outputs a web page displaying image files corresponding to each selected device control application image to the web client via the network interface generating a preview image of a customized user interface.

In a case where it is determined that a document is left behind, a display control unit is configured to control display of an icon using a result of detection by a second detection unit without using at least a result of detection by a first detection unit.

An imaging device includes: an imaging unit configured to image a subject and generate image data; a display configured to display information including an image corresponding to the image data; a first recording slot mounting a first recording medium for recording the image data; a second recording slot mounting a second recording medium for recording the image data; a recording controller configured to set a recording mode between: an automatic switching mode in which recording of the image data is performed by repeatedly switching between the first and the second recording media in a predetermined order; and a simultaneous recording mode in which recording of the image data to the first and the second recording media is simultaneously performed; and a display controller configured to display setting mode information relating to the recording mode set by the recording controller in a different display mode for each recording mode.

An electronic device includes an operation unit and a controller. In a case of detecting a long-press at an icon arranged on a home screen, the controller allows a display unit to display, at a predetermined position near a display region of the icon, a submenu image for selecting detailed settings for a function associated with the icon. The control unit performs a guidance image display control, a step bar display control, and a step bar operation detection control. When the touch operation on a given position of the step bar is detected in the step bar operation detection control, the control unit causes the display unit to display the plurality of guidance images corresponding to the process associated with the position where the touch operation has been made, in the guidance image display control.

A system and method for customized multifunction peripherals includes a document processing controller including a processor and a memory, a scanner, a scanner engine, a printer, a user input and a display. The memory stores electronic customization groups, each corresponding to a unique business type. Each electronic customization group includes electronic files, such as forms, applications, screen backgrounds, company logos, screen positioning information, and labels. The memory also stores device customization data sets, each corresponding to document processing in the multifunction peripheral. Indicia on the display identify each of the customization groups by business type, and the user input receives a selection of a selected customization group. A customizations menu on the display lists available customizations from the selected customization group. A document processing options menu on the display includes document processing options corresponding to a portion of the device customization data sets associated with the selected customization group.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming section, an operation section, and a controller. The image forming section forms an image on a recording medium. The operation section includes a touch panel. The controller controls the image forming section and the operation section. The controller acts to display a screen that presents predetermined items on the touch panel, start operation guidance by the operation section, start display whose gradation changes in a predetermined guidance direction, and wait for swipe operation by an operator with reception prohibited by displaying, in grayscale, unrelated icons among icons of the predetermined items.
