MODULAR TIBIAL CONE AUGMENTS AND METHOD OF SURGICALLY USING THE SAME
An orthopaedic joint replacement system is shown and described. The system includes a number of prosthetic components configured to be implanted into a patient’s knee. The system also includes a number of surgical instruments configured for use in preparing the bones of the patient’s knee to receive the implants. A number of methods for using the surgical instruments to prepare the bones is also disclosed.
ORTHOPAEDIC KNEE CONE COMPONENTS FOR USE IN AN ORTHOPAEDIC SURGICAL PROCEDURE AND INSTRUMENTS AND METHODS FOR INSTALLING THE SAME
An orthopaedic joint replacement system is shown and described. The system includes a number of prosthetic components configured to be implanted into a patient's knee. The system also includes a number of surgical instruments configured for use in preparing the bones of the patient's knee to receive the implants. A number of methods for using the surgical instruments to prepare the bones is also disclosed.
Prosthetic knee implant
Knee implant systems and methods for implantation or use in a knee joint, are disclosed. A knee implant system can include at femoral component having a femur-contacting surface and an opposing articulation surface, and proximal, distal, anterior and posterior portion. The femoral component can include a medial condyle and a lateral condyle, where each of the condyles define respective distal-most points and have substantially equal widths. The width of each of the condyles can define respective condyle midpoints, where the distal-most points can be located laterally from the midpoints. The femoral component can include a trochlear groove that can define a distal-most sulcus point located halfway between the distal-most point of the medial condyle and the distal-most point of the lateral condyle.
Side-specific orthopaedic surgical instrument systems and associated methods of use
A surgical instrument system includes a pair of side-specific orthopaedic surgical instrument assemblies. The right-limb side-specific instrument assembly is kitted so as to be devoid of left-limb side-specific instruments and vice versa.
Cruciate replacing artificial knee
A knee joint prosthesis is configured to move between an extended position and a flexion position. The knee joint prosthesis includes a femoral component configured to be mounted to a femur, and a tibial component configured to be mounted to a tibia. The tibial component is configured to engage the femoral component to form the knee joint prosthesis. A post is fixedly connected to one of the femoral component and the tibial component and has a helical surface at a terminal end thereof. A recess is defined on the other of the femoral component and the tibial component and has a helical surface. The helical surfaces of the post and recess are configured to engage in order to cause relative rotation between the femoral and tibial components as the knee joint prosthesis moves between the extended and flexion positions.
System and method for preparing a patient's femur in an orthopaedic joint replacement procedure
An orthopaedic joint replacement system is shown and described. The system includes a number of prosthetic components configured to be implanted into a patient's knee. The system also includes a number of surgical instruments configured for use in preparing the bones of the patient's knee to receive the implants. A method or technique for using the surgical instruments to prepare the bones is also disclosed.
ARTIFICIAL KNEE JOINT CAPABLE OF PREVENTING DISLOCATION OF THIGHBONE COUPLING MEMBER
An artificial knee joint, which includes an upper surface at which a post performs a motion relative to a cam of the thighbone coupling member, is configured such that a radius of curvature of an upper curved surface extending posteriorly from the upper surface is larger than that of a lower curved surface, so as to prevent the cam of the thighbone coupling member from deviating from an inflection point existing between the upper curved surface and the lower curved surface, and is configured such that the upper surface is inclined at a predetermined angle, so as to allow the thighbone coupling member to be restored while naturally descending along the upper surface even when the thighbone coupling member is dislocated, thereby increasing a jump distance without increasing an amount of bone to be cut.
IMPLANTS FOR ADDING JOINT INCLINATION TO A KNEE ARTHROPLASTY
According to one example, a bearing component for a knee arthroplasty is disclosed. The bearing component can optionally comprise any one or combination of: a medial compartment having an medial articular surface with a medial articular track and having a first thickness as measured at the medial articular track between the medial articular surface a medial distal surface; and a lateral compartment having a lateral articular surface with a lateral articular track and having a second thickness as measured at the lateral articular track between the lateral articular surface a lateral distal surface; wherein the medial articular surface at the medial articular track and the lateral articular surface at the lateral articular track each have an inclination so as to form an acute angle with respect to a resected proximal surface of a tibia.
METHOD FOR PREPARING A PATIENT'S TIBIA IN AN ORTHOPAEDIC JOINT REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE
SYSTEM AND METHOD OF PERFORMING A REAMING OPERATION ON A PATIENT'S FEMUR DURING AN ORTHOPAEDIC JOINT REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE
