The disclosure includes methods and systems for making orthopedic connections where there is unique adjustability to the connection. Illustratively, one embodiment provides a connecting assembly for connecting a plurality of orthopedic components. Such connecting assemblies can include a first orthopedic component that provides a female bore. Additionally, the assembly can include a second orthopedic component that can be or include a male-type connecting member that is positionable in the bore of the first orthopedic component. In one preferred form, the male-type connecting member will be a quasi-spherical member. The quasi-spherical member can include a textured outer surface, e.g., for contacting one or more walls or surfaces in the bore in a fashion that removably locks or helps to removably lock or fix the quasi-spherical member in the bore.

Intramedullary fixated subacromial spacers
10959761 · 2021-03-30 · ·

A prosthesis including a subacromial spacer having a surface contoured to maintain an acromion in chosen distance to a humeral head upon rotation and fixation means to fixate the subacromial spacer to a humeral medullary cavity and/or an intramedullary fixator implanted or configured for implantation in the humeral medullary cavity. A surgical kit includes the prosthesis and a proximal humeral nail. The fixating means are connectable into a proximal opening of the proximal humeral nail. A method may include: creating a percutaneous passage from an outer-body space to a portion of a humeral head; removing bony tissue to facilitate direct communication between the outer-body space and a humeral medullary cavity enclosed in the humeral head; providing a prosthesis including a subacromial spacer having a surface; and/or fixating the subacromial spacer to the humeral medullary cavity and/or an intramedullary fixator implanted or configured for implantation in the humeral medullary cavity.

IMPLANTS, SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF USING THE SAME

Implants, device, systems and methods for replacing an articulation surface in a joint, for example, shoulder prostheses with stemless humeral components or stemmed humeral components. Methods for using the shoulder prostheses with stemless humeral components or stemmed humeral components are also disclosed.

Stemless Shoulder Implant With Button Lock
20210045887 · 2021-02-18 ·

A system for shoulder repair includes a prosthetic stemless shoulder implant including a base member extending along a longitudinal axis from a first side to a second side. The second side adapted to engage bone of a patient. The base member defines a hole that extends along the longitudinal axis and through the second side of the base member for receiving a flexible member therethrough. The system includes a fixation construct including a first fixation device and a second fixation device, the first and second fixation devices connected by the flexible member. While the first fixation device is positioned outside of the second side of the base member and the second fixation device is positioned within the base member, the flexible member is adapted to tension the first fixation device with respect to the second fixation device.

Shoulder Implant Impactor With Stabilization Features

An impactor system is for impacting a base of a shoulder implant into a humerus. The system may include a housing having distal stabilizer configured to contact a proximal resected surface of the humerus. The distal stabilizer may define an open space. An impaction member may be slidably received within the housing. The impaction member may have a proximal surface and a distal connection mechanism adapted to connect to the base of the shoulder implant. The impaction member may be movable from a first proximal position in which the base of the shoulder implant, when connected to the impaction member, is positioned within the open space defined by the distal stabilizer, to a second distal position in which the base of the shoulder implant, when connected to the impaction member, is positioned at least partially distal to the open space defined by the distal stabilizer.

MODULAR REVERSE SHOULDER PROSTHESIS

A modular reverse shoulder prosthesis, comprising: a stem (110) comprising a tapered body (111) and a first annular housing (112); a tray (120) comprising a dome element (121) for insertion into the first annular housing (112), and further comprising a second annular housing (122); a liner (130) comprising an engaging element (131) for at least partial insertion into the dome element (121), and further comprising a joint concave element (132) configured for coupling with the second annular housing (122). The second annular housing (122) of the tray (120) comprises a raised edge (123) configured to support the joint concave element (132) and which defines an overall outline having a different development in height at least in diametrically opposite portions (123a; 123b) of the tray (120).
