The present disclosure pertains to ionic polymer compositions, including semi.- and fully interpenetrating polymer networks, methods of making, such ionic polymer compositions, articles made from such ionic polymer compositions, and methods of making such articles and packaging, for such articles.

Small joint fixation

A method of joining adjacent bone includes providing a medical device having a first implant portion, a second implant portion attached to the first implant portion, and a driver assembly having an instrument adapted to form an opening in bone. The driver assembly is integrally connected to and removably attached to the second implant portion at a connection, distal from the first implant portion. The driver assembly further has a wire driver extending therefrom, distal from the first implant portion. The method further includes inserting the wire driver into a wire driver tool; placing the first implant portion against a first bone structure; inserting the first implant portion into the first bone structure; removing the second implant portion from the driver assembly; using the driver assembly to form an opening in a second bone structure, adjacent to the first bone structure; and inserting the second implant portion into the opening.

BONE REPOSITIONING GUIDE SYSTEM AND PROCEDURE
20230149045 · 2023-05-18 ·

A surgical system and procedure are provided for correcting a deformity between first and second bones using an alignment guide based on a correction factor. The alignment guide is used to insert one or more k-wires into each of the first and second bones in a deformed configuration. A correction guide is passed along the k-wires to rotate and/or translate the first bone relative to the second bone into the corrected configuration. An auxiliary correction guide can be passed along the k-wires to further rotate and/or translate the first bone relative to the second bone from the corrected configuration to an adjusted configuration.

BIODEGRADABLE JOINT IMPLANTS, ITS PREPARATION METHOD AND A JOINT REPLACEMENT METHOD

A biodegradable joint implant comprises a joint scaffold and a film layer coated on the surface of the joint scaffold. The joint scaffold comprises a first anchor fixing, a second fixing and a flexible spacer, and the first anchor fixing and the second anchor fixing are respectively axially connected to opposite sides of the flexible spacer. The joint implant is made of biodegradable material, and the film layer contains at least one substance that can induce tissue growth. A method for preparing the joint implant and a joint replacement method using the joint implant are also provided.

Implant with intramedullary portion and offset extramedullary portion

An implant comprises a unitary body including an intramedullary portion connected to an extramedullary portion. The unitary body is configured to attach a first bone section to a second bone section. The intramedullary portion has a first longitudinal axis, and is configured for insertion into the first bone section. The intramedullary portion includes at least one first fastener aperture having an aperture axis oriented obliquely relative to the first longitudinal axis. The extramedullary portion is configured to abut a surface of the second bone section and includes at least one second fastener aperture disposed to transversely receive a bone fastener inserted in the second bone section. The extramedullary portion has a second longitudinal axis offset from, the first longitudinal axis.

Implant with curved bone contacting elements

An implant may include a body having a leading edge portion, a trailing edge portion, and an intermediate portion. The leading edge portion may include a substantially smooth surface forming a substantial majority of a leading edge surface and the trailing edge portion may include a monolithic structure including at least one receptacle configured to receive an insertion tool. The intermediate portion may include a plurality of elongate curved structural members continuously formed with at least one of the leading edge portion and the trailing edge portion. In addition, the elongate curved structural members may be configured such that the intermediate portion remains substantially rigid under compressive forces during insertion of the implant between bone surfaces of a patient. Also, the elongate curved structural members may include an elongate curved structural member extending longitudinally from the leading edge portion to the trailing edge portion and having a substantially sinusoidal configuration.

Bone fixation assembly, implants and methods of use

Bone fusion system, plate system, guide, implant, kit and methods for using the bone fusion system, plate system, guide and implant are disclosed. The bone fusion system includes an alignment guide, an implant, and at least one fastener inserted through the implant. The alignment guide includes a body portion, a first lobe positioned at a first end of the body portion, a second lobe positioned at a second end of the body portion, and an extension member extending away from a first side of the body portion. The implant includes a body portion, a first arm extending away from the body portion in a first direction, a second arm extending away from the body portion in a second direction, and a third arm extending away from the body portion laterally between first and second arms. Finally, methods for using the bone fusion system, plate system, guide and implant are disclosed.

An osteotomy implant device includes a housing defining a cavity and having a central plane extending therethrough. The housing includes a first bone engaging surface and a second bone engaging surface. The second bone engaging surface disposed on an opposing side of the central plane from the first bone engaging surface. The osteotomy implant device also includes a cutting member. The cutting member rotatable coupled to the housing. The cutting member rotatable about an axis between a first position and a second position. The cutting member entirely disposed within the cavity between the first bone engaging surface and the second bone engaging surface in the first position. A portion of the cutting member extends beyond at least the first bone engaging surface or the second bone engaging surface of the housing in the second position.

Instruments and methods for complete plantar plate repairs

Surgical repair systems and techniques for plantar plate repairs. The surgical repair systems and methods reconstruct the plantar plate through a dorsal incision. The surgical repair system embodies a variety of instruments that provide visualization and access to the plantar plate using suture to complete the repair. The repair system may include some or all of the following instruments: a metatarsal head pusher employed in open surgical space, to move the “capital fragment” in a controlled manner; a suture retriever instrument and a suture retriever funnel (sleeve); a suture passer such as a Mini Scorpion DX and accompanying needle, or a variety of shaped Micro Suture Lassos; a measuring guide; and a small joint distractor.
