EXPANDABLE FUSION DEVICE AND METHOD OF INSTALLATION THEREOF
20190321191 · 2019-10-24 ·

The present invention provides an expandable fusion device capable of being installed inside an intervertebral disc space to maintain normal disc spacing and restore spinal stability, thereby facilitating an intervertebral fusion. In one embodiment, the fusion device includes a body portion, a first endplate, and a second endplate, the first and second endplates capable of being moved in a direction away from the body portion into an expanded configuration or capable of being moved towards the body portion into an unexpanded configuration. The fusion device is capable of being deployed and installed in both configurations.

HARVESTING BONE GRAFT MATERIAL FOR USE IN SPINAL AND OTHER BONE FUSION SURGERIES
20190321194 · 2019-10-24 ·

A cage device for harvesting bone graft material for use in bone fusion surgery, e.g., a spinal fusion. The device has a chamber configured to contain a slurry of morselized bone and blood that effuses from adjacent bones when the device is placed in a space between the bones, and a bone cutter assembly is inserted into the chamber and operated. In one embodiment, the cutter assembly includes an elongated cannula having a bend at a distal end, and a wire arranged to slide inside the cannula so that a cutting tip of the wire can be set to project a desired distance from the distal end. When the cannula is driven to rotate about its long axis, the wire cutting tip strikes and cuts grooves in the facing surfaces of the bones to produce the mentioned slurry which remains inside the chamber to promote a solid and healthy fusion.

SPINAL IMPLANT INSERTION TOOL
20190321197 · 2019-10-24 · ·

A spinal implant insertion tool includes a handle portion and an attachment portion extending distally from the handle portion. A first attachment section on the attachment portion is adapted to secure a surgically sterile spinal plate to the spinal implant insertion tool. A second attachment section on the attachment portion is adapted to secure a surgically sterile spinal cage, so that the spinal plate and the spinal cage may be attached to the spinal implant insertion tool simultaneously. The second attachment section is sized to allow the spinal plate to pass over the second attachment section before the spinal plate is secured to the first attachment section.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ORTHOPEDIC IMPLANT FIXATION
20190321193 · 2019-10-24 ·

A personalized fixation system includes a surgical planning software tool configured to adjust relationships of relevant anatomy of a subject, at least one bone anchor, a plate having a shape that does not conform to a single plane, the plate configured to accept the at least one bone anchor, wherein the shape of the plate is at least partially determined by the surgical planning software tool, and wherein the plate includes at least one node having a hole configured to receive the at least one bone anchor, and a locking element configured to connect the at least one bone anchor to the plate, wherein the plate is manufactured using additive manufacturing.

Biological Disc Graft and Method for Relief of Lower Back Pain and Joint Pain
20190321189 · 2019-10-24 ·

The invention provides a method of making a biological disc graft. In one embodiment, the biological disc graft is useful for treating back or neck pain. In one embodiment, the biological disc graft is useful for treating any joint pain. The invention also provides a method of implanting said biological disc graft in a way that is minimally invasive and less dangerous.

Expandable intervertebral implant and associated method of manufacturing the same

An expandable intervertebral implant (10) includes superior (20) and inferior (30) bone contacting members and at least one vertical wire netting (50) interconnecting the superior and inferior bone contacting members. The superior and inferior bone contacting members include at least two bone contacting components interconnected via one or more lateral wire nettings such that the implant is vertically and laterally expandable in situ from a first insertion configuration to a second expanded configuration. The vertical and lateral wire netting are preferably constructed of a plurality of individual link members. The present invention also preferably relates to an associated method of manufacturing the intervertebral implant such that the intervertebral implant can be manufactured as an integral component or part.

Expandable intervertebral implant

An expandable intervertebral implant is provided for insertion into an intervertebral space defined by adjacent vertebrae. The expandable intervertebral implant includes a pair of outer sleeve portions and an inner core disposed between the outer sleeve portions. Movement of the inner core relative to the outer sleeve portions causes the outers sleeve portions to deflect away from each other, thereby engaging the expandable intervertebral implant with the vertebrae and adjusting the height of the intervertebral space.
