EXPANDING SPINAL FUSION CAGE
Disclosed herein are expanding spinal fusion cage embodiments including an expandable cage assembly configured to expand from a collapsed state to an expanded state in an intervertebral space when inflated with a material. The assembly can include an inflatable section defining an interior volume configured to receive the material and expand the interior volume in response to a pressure from the received material to cause the expandable cage assembly to transition from the collapsed state to the expanded state, and a stabilization section configured to restrain the inflatable section during inflation.
Spinal implant system and methods of use
A surgical system includes a trial connected with a first image guide oriented relative to a sensor to communicate a signal representative of the trial relative to a patient anatomy. A tracking device includes the sensor and communicates with a processor to generate a storable image of the trial relative to the patient anatomy for display from a monitor. A spinal implant is connected with a second image guide oriented relative to the sensor to communicate a signal representative of the spinal implant relative to the patient anatomy. The sensor receives the signal of the second image guide and communicates with the processor to generate an image of the spinal implant in real time for display from the monitor in a configuration to align the spinal implant in real time with the stored image of the trial. In some embodiments, methods, spinal constructs, implants and surgical instruments are disclosed.
EXPANDABLE IMPLANT
An implant is disclosed. The implant has a first endplate, a second endplate, a base disposed between the first endplate and the second endplate, a plurality of adjustment arms operably connecting the base with the first endplate and the second endplate, and a plurality of pins disposed on at least one of the first endplate and the second endplate. The plurality of pins have different lengths. The plurality of adjustment arms are rotatably connected to a plurality of hubs that are axially slidable on at least some of the plurality of pins.
CERVICAL DISTRACTION/IMPLANT DELIVERY DEVICE
Systems for distracting a facet joint and positioning a permanent implant in the joint are disclosed. The implants serve to retain a distracted position of the facet joint which is achieved with positioning of the leading end of a distraction tool in the facet joint and then distracting or enlarging the joint a desired amount. The permanent implant could be part of the distraction mechanism which can be separated from the delivery tool once the joint has been distracted or an auxiliary implant may be positioned before the distraction mechanism is removed from the distracted joint. The permanent implants can be solid, mechanical devices that may have fixation means thereon to hold them in place or injected fluids such as hydrogels or fluids confined within balloons.
Cortical rim-supporting interbody device and method
An inflatable central distractor is inserted in to a disc space between two vertebral endplates. A perimeter balloon is inserted into the disc space in such a manner as to surround the central inflatable distractor. The perimeter balloon and the central inflatable distractor are simultaneously expanded such that as the central inflatable distractor expands the perimeter balloon surrounds the central inflatable distractor and such that the central inflatable distractor and the perimeter balloon, when expanded, contribute to forcing adjacent vertebral endplates apart.
Expandable interbody spacer
An expandable interbody spacer for the spine is provided. The interbody spacer includes a housing, a top endplate and a bottom endplate. An actuator is located inside the housing between the top and bottom endplates. A locking screw is configured to drive the actuator and move the endplates between collapsed and expanded configurations. Variations of the expandable spacer are provided in which the endplates move bilaterally outwardly into uniform and parallel expansion along the latitudinal axis, the endplates angulate about a pivot point along a longitudinal axis such that the distal end of the spacer increases in height relative to the proximal end, and the endplates angulate about a pivot along a lateral axis such that the height along one lateral side of the spacer increases in height relative to the other lateral side.
Lateral spine plate with lateral spine cage anchoring system
A spine stabilization and fusion system includes a lateral cage having a lateral cage bore hole. The system also includes a lateral cage insertion shaft comprising a leading end, a mid-portion, and a terminal end. A shape of the leading end matches a shape of the lateral cage bore hole such that the leading end mates with the lateral cage bore hole via a friction fit. The system also includes a lateral plate having a lateral plate bore hole and a plurality of holes, where the lateral plate bore hole receives the mid-portion of the lateral cage insertion shaft, and where the plurality of holes receive fasteners to couple the lateral plate to one or more vertebra.
Cervical cage
The present invention relates to an implantable cervical cage having a flexible posterior plate allowing for posterior displacement or movement of the cage. The cervical cage includes an anterior wall or side with a rigidity greater than a rigidity of the posterior plate. The differential between the anterior and posterior rigidity allow the cervical cage to flex more in a posterior plane than an anterior plane.
Intervertebral implant system for an inline technique with patient in a lateral decubitus position
A surgical implant system includes a surgical implant for securing adjacent vertebrae of a spine to each other. The surgical implant includes a spacer having at least one implant eyelet. The surgical implant system also includes at least one vertebral anchor configured for insertion through the at least one implant eyelet to fasten the surgical implant to the spine. The vertebral anchor has a tip portion, a head portion, an elongate shank extending from the head portion, and an elongate fin extending from the head portion and along a surface of the elongate shank. The elongate shank and the elongate fin form a generally t-shaped cross-section.
