FLEXIBLE ADJUSTABLE RADIOPAQUE TRIAL, PLATE, AND METHOD OF USE
A flexible plastic, resin or polymer material forming a trial plate for use is surgery of bones including spine and extremities. The trial plate having at least one radioopaque region and which may have one radiolucent region. In some instances a main body includes one or more arms formed of subparts. Between the main body and subparts and between the subparts are rangible regions such a ribs or unbroken edges surrounding windows configured as predetermined break points to disassociate portions of an arm from the whole.
Spinal implant system
A prosthesis for spinal surgery includes a spacer adapted to be secured into the bone and attached to one of a plurality of configuration plates. The configuration plates are interchangeable and each one is configured to utilize a different combination of bone screws, anchors or both. The prosthesis may further include a retaining mechanism to prevent bone screws and/or anchors from backing out.
System and method for spinal disc replacement surgery via a lateral approach
The present invention relates to a system and method for spinal disc replacement surgery via a lateral approach. The invention also relates to a spinal disc replacement device that is designed to be inserted via the lateral approach disc replacement surgery. The invention further relates to tools used for the spinal disc replacement surgery via the lateral approach.
Surgical implant and methods of additive manufacturing
A method of manufacturing a surgical implant includes simultaneously forming a first component and a second component of the surgical implant. Formation of the first and second components includes depositing a first quantity of material to a building platform and fusing the first quantity of material to form a first layer of the first and second components. The method of manufacturing also includes depositing a second quantity of material over the first layer of the first and second components and fusing the second quantity of material to form a second layer of the first and second components. The surgical implant is fully assembled upon the completion of the formation of the first and second components.
Device for stabilization of bone segment and extending assembly thereof
The present invention discloses a device for stabilization of bone segment and an extending assembly thereof. The device comprises a screw assembly, two supporting members and two extending members. The screw assembly comprises a receiver and an anchoring member. The receiver has a retainer and two opposite arms extending along the longitudinal axis of the device from the positions adjacent to the retainer. The anchoring member is connected to the retainer. The supporting members are connected to the arms respectively and extend along the longitudinal axis. Each one of the extending members has a through hole respectively. The extending members are connected to the arms with the supporting members passing through the through holes respectively.
Nubbed plate
A separate nub component between the plate and an intervertebral fusion cage, wherein the nub is attached to the plate. The nub lessens the undesired pivotal movement of the plate. It is believed that when the nub fits snugly between the endplates of the adjacent vertebral bodies, it acts as a stop against the undesired pivotal movement of the plate.
Height adjustable spine implant
A variable height intervertebral spine implant is adjustable in situ having first and second trapezoidal components oriented such that the short surfaces/sides of their parallel surfaces/sides are adjacent, forming a first wedge-shaped pocket between opposing first skew surfaces/sides of the first and second components on a first end, and a second wedge-shaped pocket between opposing second skew surfaces/sides of the first and second components on a second end. First and second lateral flanges of both the first and second components cooperate to connect the first and second components together, and to allow height adjustment between the first and second components. A first wedge situated in the first pocket and a second wedge situated in the second pocket are connected via a drive mechanism that effects concerted movement thereof whereby contraction increases implant height while expansion decreases implant height. The wedges ride against the skew sides of the components.
Expandable fusion device and method of installation thereof
The present invention provides an expandable fusion device capable of being installed inside an intervertebral disc space to maintain normal disc spacing and restore spinal stability, thereby facilitating an intervertebral fusion. In one embodiment, the fusion device includes a body portion, a first endplate, and a second endplate, the first and second endplates capable of being moved in a direction away from the body portion into an expanded configuration or capable of being moved towards the body portion into an unexpanded configuration. The fusion device is capable of being deployed and installed in both configurations.
Spinal implant system
A spinal implant system is provided for bridging an intervertebral space between vertebral bodies bordering the intervertebral space. The spinal implant system includes at least one adjustable end cap and a spinal implant. The end cap can be used with additional end caps and/or the spinal implant. Multiple end caps can be stacked on top of one another, and one end cap can be attached to a first end of the spinal implant, and another end cap 10 can be attached to a second end of the spinal implant. Thus, one or more of the end caps can be attached to either end of the spinal implant.
Expandable cage
An expandable cage for placement between adjacent vertebrae having two or more upper and lower end plates having compound-angled slots, ramps or rails, and a drive means having corresponding compound-angled slots, ramps or rails configured to slidingly engage the compound-angled slots, ramps or rails of the two or more upper and lower end plates, wherein movement of the drive means in a first direction moves the two or more upper and lower end plates away from each other both vertically and horizontally to expand both a height and a width of the expandable cage from a collapsed state to an expanded state.
