Slide fastener
A slide fastener includes a resin sheet that joins tapes on one surface among both surfaces of the tapes in a thickness direction, and that extends from a stop on a side opposite to element rows and is integral with the stop. The stop includes recesses on a boundary portion with the sheet of left and right side portions that respectively correspond to the tapes, and includes a recess region in a surface of the stop that is a region whose range in a left-right direction is defined by leftmost and rightmost ones of the recesses. A surface of the sheet includes a flat portion that is a region extending from the recess region toward the side opposite to the element rows.
Advanced sealing-interface surveillance technology
A material closure assembly including a material closure, such as zipper or a hook and loop fastener, having a first portion and a second portion that are configured to be releasably joined together; an electrical circuit that is configured to be closed when the first portion of the material closure is entirely joined with the second portion of the material closure; and an first indicator that is electrically connected to the electrical circuit and configured to indicate that the first portion of the material closure is entirely joined with the second portion of the material closure. The material closure assembly thus providing an active feedback system for closures on garments and personal protective equipment (PPE) to alert wearer of incomplete seals between interfaces on modular PPE which could result in the wearer of the PPE being exposed to the surrounding environment outside the PPE.
Interlocking zipper pull tabs and fastening system
A fastening system for a zipper is disclosed which includes locking or interlocking first and second zipper pull tabs. A first zipper pull tab comprises a first base, a hook extending from the first base, and a movable gate coupled to the first base. A second zipper pull tab comprises a second base, a cover coupled to the second base, and a post extending between the second base and the cover. For interlocking, the movable gate and hook are further coupled around the post to provide the interlocking configuration of the first and second zipper pull tabs. The first zipper pull tab may be utilized separately from the second zipper pull tab, such as to lock to a coupling ring or another component of a carrying bag.

Pants with bi-directional zippered fly
A pair of pants including a fly that can be opened and closed via a bi-directional zipper that extends from a top end proximal to an upper terminus of the pants to a bottom end at the crotch point of the pants. The zipper includes a top slider and a bottom slider that travel on a common set of zipper teeth. The top slider separates the zipper teeth when moved in a direction away from the top end toward the bottom end and closes the zipper teeth when moved in the opposite direction. The bottom slider separates the zipper teeth when moved in a direction toward the top end and away from the bottom end and closes the zipper teeth when moved in the opposite direction. The pants allow a wearer to excrete urine while in a sitting position, particularly such as when the wearer is operating an aircraft.

Negative Poisson's ratio materials for fasteners
A zipper includes two rows of zipper teeth, in which at least one of the zipper teeth includes a negative Poisson's ratio (NPR) foam material having a Poisson's ratio of between 0 and −1, and a slider movably attached to one of the rows of the zipper teeth and configured to connect the two rows of zipper teeth when the slider is moved in a first direction and to disconnect the two rows of zipper teeth when the slider is moved in an opposite direction.
