Robotic surgical instrument system
Systems and methods are provided for determining acceptable ranges of pressures for use by a robotic arm on a surgical instrument, robotic systems and methods that are limited to using the acceptable ranges of pressures, and the medical devices for use in the robotic surgery. Learning software is included in the methods and systems for correlating manually-performed procedures with pressure sensors as a tactile gauge for qualifying the acceptable ranges of pressures for use by a robotic system.

BIOACTIVE SOFT TISSUE IMPLANT AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURE AND USE THEREOF
A bioactive filamentary structure includes a sheath coated with a mixture of synthetic bone graft particles and a polymer solution forming a scaffold structure. In forming such a structure, synthetic bone graft particles and a polymer solution are applied around a filamentary structure. A polymer is precipitated from the polymer solution such that the synthetic bone graft particles and the polymer coat the filamentary structure and the polymer is adhered to the synthetic bone graft particles to retain the graft particles.
DELIVERY DEVICE FOR GRAFT MATERIAL
A method of delivering graft material to a surgical site includes positioning graft material in a tube of a delivery device. The tube defines an open end and a bend along its length. A plunger within the tube is advanced to dispense the graft material through the open end.
SUPPORTING MEMBER FOR IMPLANTING INTO VERTEBRA AND IMPLANTING SYSTEM AND METHOD USING THE SAME
The present invention provides a supporting member for implanting into a vertebra of a subject, including: a hollow body including an upper surface and a lower surface opposite the upper surface; a first guiding part formed on the upper surface; a second guiding part corresponding to the first guiding part and formed on the lower surface; a first engaging part formed on the upper surface; and a second engaging part corresponding to the first engaging part and formed on the lower surface; wherein the second guiding part extends out an extending part from a side of the hollow body, and the extending part is configured to be slidably coupled to a first guiding part of another supporting member sliding to the lower surface of the supporting member, as a result two supporting members are slidably coupled to each other and engaged to each other. According to the invention, one single supporting member can be implanted into a vertebra of a subject, or two or more supporting members can be in sequence introduced into a vertebra of a subject and combined together therein.
JOINT FUSION INSTRUMENTATION AND METHODS
Systems and methods for joint preparation and fusion are disclosed. The system includes a cutting device having a handle, and rigid blade member. The blade member may include cutting edges on first and second sides, and may be curved in one or more planes. The blade member may be deployed to project outside of an outer tube, and the cutting device may be rotated to create a circular cavity. In a method of use, a cannula provides access to a procedure site such as a joint. A pathway to the joint is created, and the cutting device is inserted and deployed to undercut a cavity in the joint. A fusion device may be implanted across the joint to provide compression and fuse the joint. The system may also include instrumentation for creating access to a joint, bone graft insertion and implant insertion.
Percutaneous bone graft delivery system and method
A bone graft delivery system includes a bone graft injector and an access portal. The access portal may include a handle having a first arm pivotably connected to, and biased away from, a second arm. A ratchet including a pawl may extend from the second arm. A delivery tube may be configured to mate with the first arm and be configured to store a bone graft material therein. A plunger including a shaft and a plunger tip at the distal end thereof may be configured to move through the delivery tube. At least a portion of the shaft may include teeth, the pawl of the ratchet being configured to iteratively contact the teeth. A user may hold the access portal with a first hand and the bone graft injector with a second hand, iteratively squeezing the handle to iteratively eject amounts of bone graft material into a patient.
BONE IMPLANT AUGMENT METHOD AND APPARATUS
The strength of bone implant attached to a bone is improved by using hybrid inserts which have stems and wings having bone ingrowth surface features and caps having outer surfaces of cured polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA). The stems and wings of the hybrid inserts are inserted into living bone and the bone implant is attached to the hybrid inserts with PMMA cement. Over time, the bone grows into the bone ingrowth surface features. The bone ingrowth strengthens the bonding of the hybrid inserts and the bone implant with the bone over time. The hybrid inserts increase the shear, tensile and torque strength of the bone implants. Bone inserts that do not have ingrowth surface features loosen over time.

Bone graft delivery loading assembly
A bone graft loading system includes a loading funnel, syringe, cannula, plunger, and loading tool. The loading funnel includes an interior passageway to receive the cannula and a syringe docking portion. The syringe may be coupled to the syringe docking portion so that it extends along a longitudinal axis that is transverse to the longitudinal axes of the cannula and the loading funnel. A user may advance bone graft from the syringe to a holding area of the loading funnel. The user may then move the loading tool through the holding area and into the interior space of the cannula to load the cannula with bone graft. This process may be repeated until the cannula is fully loaded with bone graft. The cannula and the plunger inside the cannula may then be removed from the loading funnel and coupled to an injector assembly for use in surgery.
