A method for the fluoroscopic registration in real time for placement of pedicle screws or the like during spinal surgery, comprising creating a lateral image in which a pedicle has appropriate anatomic contour and superior endplate, advancing a pin into the pedicle starting in the posterior cortex and moved far enough into the pedicle to anchor the pin, rotating the fluoroscopy to obtain an AP image of the pedicle which is moved to render the pin to be neutral in a cephalad to candad direction, and positioning a pedicle screw in the pedicle following 2D contour mapping generated by manual or automated templating.

The present disclosure provides a glenoid implant system for a reverse shoulder implant system that includes a glenoid implant having a center post, and also includes an angled baseplate comprising a bone facing surface to face an implant site prepared in a glenoid region of a patient, and an implant facing surface to face and engage the glenoid implant and receive the center post of the glenoid implant, wherein the implant facing surface being at an angle with respect to a centerline of the bone facing surface.

HOLDER AND SURGICAL INSTRUMENT ASSEMBLY FOR INTERVERTEBRAL FORAMEN ENDOSCOPE FUSION
20220330809 · 2022-10-20 ·

A holder for intervertebral foramen endoscope fusion includes an inner rod, an anti-torsion sleeve and an outer sleeve which are sleeved from inside to outside and are movable relatively along an axial direction. The inner rod is configured for pushing the expanding part inside a fusion cage. A head end of the anti-torsion sleeve is provided with an external thread section, the external thread section is configured for matching and connecting with the screw plug mounting hole of a holding body of the fusion cage, and the tail end of the anti-torsion sleeve is provided with a matching structure for matching with the bone grafting funnel. A head end of the outer sleeve is matched with the holding body of the fusion cage to restrict the rotation of the fusion cage along an axis of the fusion cage. A surgical instrument assembly is also provided.

Minimally invasive surgery (MIS) methods and devices

Embodiments of the present disclosure includes method and devices for minimally invasive spinal fusion surgery. A method for minimally invasive spinal fusion surgery can include accessing a spinal column through a working channel device, wherein the working channel has a proximal end and a distal end, advancing the working channel so that the distal end pierces an outer layer of a vertebral disc, inserting a disc extractor through the working channel device and into the vertebral disc to cut the vertebral disc into pieces, inserting a disc blade through the working channel device and into the vertebral disc to cut the vertebral disc into pieces, using a disc rake to remove the pieces of the vertebral disc, inserting a disc shaver to clean a number of surfaces of vertebra adjacent to the vertebral disc, and inserting and implanting a disc implant in a space from where the vertebral disc was removed.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SOFT TISSUE AND BONE REPAIR
20230103416 · 2023-04-06 ·

A soft tissue and bone repair system and corresponding method are provided which are particularly useful for labral repairs in the human shoulder. The system comprises at least two guide cannulae capable of being introduced into an anatomical structure of a human body at different entry points for repair of a tear in soft tissue. A pulling line can be passed within the anatomical structure between the guide cannulae. A guide device may be attached to the pulling line and inserted into one of the guide cannula. The guide device is capable of delivering a drilling device into the anatomical structure. The pulling line is capable of being pulled to move an end of the guide device from a one location to another within the anatomical structure to position the drilling device on a desired drilling path to access the tear in soft tissue.

CLASSIFICATION OF NUCLEIC ACID TEMPLATES

Methods, compositions, and systems are provided for characterization of modified nucleic acids. In certain preferred embodiments, single molecule sequencing methods are provided for identification of modified nucleotides within nucleic acid sequences. Modifications detectable by the methods provided herein include chemically modified bases, enzymatically modified bases, abasic sites, non-natural bases, secondary structures, and agents bound to a template nucleic acid.

Distally expanding facet joint implant and delivery device
11648129 · 2023-05-16 ·

A distally expanding facet joint implant and delivery device for distally distracting a facet joint. The facet joint implant generally includes an outer part and an inner part. The outer part includes a pair of opposed distally expandable facet plates connected by a hinge. The inner part includes a wedge that is selectively movable against the facet plates to distally expand and contract the facet joint implant into open and closed states. Teeth on the outer part engage indents on the inner part to maintain the facet joint implant in the distally expanded state. The outer and inner parts include outer and inner connectors, and the delivery device includes corresponding outer and inner connectors adapted to be in locked engagement with the outer and inner connectors to hold the implant and selectively cause it to distally expand and contract.

MULTI-SHIELD SPINAL ACCESS SYSTEM

An access device for accessing an intervertebral disc having an outer shield comprising an access shield with a larger diameter (˜16-30 mm) that reaches from the skin down to the facet line, with an inner shield having a second smaller diameter (˜5-12 mm) extending past the access shield and reaches down to the disc level. This combines the benefits of the direct visual microsurgical/mini open approaches and the percutaneous, “ultra-MIS” techniques.

Interpositional Joint Implant
20170367828 · 2017-12-28 ·

A method of preparing an interpositional implant suitable for a knee. The method includes determining a three-dimensional shape of a tibial surface of the knee. An implant is produced having a superior surface and an inferior surface, with the superior surface adapted to be positioned against a femoral condyle of the knee, and the inferior surface adapted to be positioned upon the tibial surface of the knee. The inferior surface conforms to the three-dimensional shape of the tibial surface. The implant may be inserted into the knee without making surgical cuts on the tibial surface. The tibial surface may include cartilage, or cartilage and bone.
