20230142212 · 2023-05-11 · ·

A method of coating a bone material in a container is provided. The method comprising adding the bone material to an opening of the container and sealing the opening of the container so that the bone material is disposed within an interior of the container; adding a liquid coating material to the interior of the container through an inlet of the container so as to coat at least a portion of the bone material with the liquid coating material; removing any excess coating material from the container from the interior through an outlet of the container; and removing the coated bone material from the container. A system of coating bone material under a sterilized environment is also provided.

Bone Mill With An Accessible Milling Element

A milling module for converting bone stock into bone chips comprises a shell adapted for releasable attachment to a base module. The shell has an inlet opening through which bone stock is introduced into the shell and an outlet opening through which bone chips are discharged from the shell. A milling element is moveably disposed in the shell between the inlet opening and the outlet opening for converting bone stock into bone chips. The shell includes a base adapted for releasable attachment to the base module. The base includes the outlet opening and a lid removably attached thereto. The lid includes the inlet opening of the shell. The base and the lid are collectively configured so that removal of the lid from the base allows the milling element to be accessed.

HARVESTING CANCELLOUS BONE AND MARROW FROM DISTAL FEMUR, PROXIMAL TIBIA, DISTAL TIBIA, OR CALCANEUS USING BONE PRESS APPARATUS
20230139232 · 2023-05-04 ·

Methods of harvesting cancellous bone and bone marrow include extracting loosened cancellous bone and bone marrow—including a liquid component thereof—to a collection container that has a first cup and a suction port to which a suction source is connected. After extraction, the suction source is disconnected and a lid of the collection container is removed and replaced with a lid having a plunger with a press head that is configured to filter the extracted liquid by depressing the plunger toward a bottom of the first cup. The filtered liquid is poured through a suction port into a second cup while depressing the plunger, thereby separating the liquid from a semi-solid mass of cancellous bone that remains. The bone is extracted through a cortical opening in the femur, tibia, or calcaneus, or from an intermedullary canal that is preferably formed by reaming of the tibia using an orthopedic reamer.

Joint Implant

A joint implant adapted for use in joint surgeries. Among other things, the joint implant has an anterior cutting edge and a rotatable cutter supported by a rotatable shaft. When surgical parameters require, the shaft can be detached from the implant. The present implant can include a rotatable shaft that has a conduit and windows.

DEVICES AND SYSTEMS FOR PREPARING THERAPEUTIC PELLETS

Devices and methods for mixing and preparing therapeutic pellets are described. In one aspect, the present disclosure may include a medical device for mixing and preparing pharmaceuticals. The medical device may include a body sized and shaped to be supported by a human hand. The body may be elastically flexible between a relaxed shape and a flexed shape. In the relaxed shape, the body may form a basin and may be shaped and sized to receive a vessel for mixing or forming the therapeutic pellets. In the flexed shape, the bowl may be configured for controlled pouring of the therapeutic pellets.

Bone implants and cutting apparatuses and methods

Implant devices and cutting clamp apparatuses and methods for creating the implants for insertion into a patient's joint to restore anatomic length and assist in final positioning of the bones following removal of cartilage and/or bone in preparation for fusion. A first implant is a biplanar implant having a shape to mimic the normal anatomical shape of the bones the implant is configured to mate with. The first implant may be cut using a cutting clamp and jig having the anatomical shape of the bones the implant will be inserted within or between. A second implant is a cylindrical piece of bone having a convex end and a concave end for mating with bones reamed to have the opposite mating surfaces. The second implant is created using cup and cone reamers having dimensions corresponding to the size of the patient's bones. Surgical methods for inserting the implants within a patient.

BONE GRAFT HARVESTING
20230190309 · 2023-06-22 ·

The present disclosure includes apparatuses for a bone graft harvesting device. An example apparatus includes a blade tip including a proximal end and a distal end, wherein the distal end of the blade tip includes a number of blades configured to morcellate bone in response to being rotated and a lead tip located within the blade tip and configured to maintain the bone graft harvesting apparatus centered on a bone graft punch hole.

RESORBABLE MACROPOROUS BIOACTIVE GLASS SCAFFOLD AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE

A method of manufacturing a resorbable, macroporous bioactive glass scaffold comprising approximately 15-45% CaO, 30-70% SiO.sub.2, 0-25% Na.sub.2O, 0-17% P.sub.2O.sub.5, 0-10% MgO and 0-5% CaF.sub.2 by mass percent, produced by mixing with pore forming agents and specified heat treatments.

Process for creating bone cavities for bone healing
09839531 · 2017-12-12 · ·

A process and system for performing orthopedic surgery to create a series of channels with a subject's bone to allow a reduced pressure system to be applied directly to the bone-implant interface to enhance bone healing is provided. The process for to promote healing of a bone of a subject includes creating a three-dimensional model of the bone; preoperatively planning a location of an implant relative to the model; creating a plan for the location of precision channels that reach the bone-implant interface based on the model and the implant; resurfacing the bone to fit the implant into or onto the bone based on the preoperative plan; and milling the precision channels into the bone in the location to promote healing of the bone and/or bone implant interface; and applying a pressure reduction system at the bone-implant interface to promote bone healing.

BONE IMPLANT HOLDING AND SHAPING TRAY

A bone implant holding and shaping tray is provided. The tray includes a first segment having a distal end and a first surface sized to hold and shape at least a portion of the bone implant with bone material. The tray includes a second segment having a second surface sized to hold and shape at least a portion of the bone implant with bone material, the second segment having a proximal end configured to be coupled to the distal end of the first segment so as to extend the first surface to hold and shape the bone implant.
