HIP JOINT DEVICE AND METHOD
A medical device system for implantation in a hip joint for providing at least one artificial hip joint surface for a patient is disclosed. The medical device system comprises an artificial acetabulum surface being at least partly bowl-shaped. The artificial surface comprises a largest cross-sectional distance being variable such that the medical device system can be inserted through a hole in the pelvic bone, from the abdominal side of the pelvic bone, the hole having a diameter smaller than said largest cross-sectional distance. Finally, the artificial acetabulum surface comprises at least two parts which are adapted to be interconnected to form an interconnected medical device when in use.
IMPLANTABLE MEDICAL DEVICE FOR LUBRICATING AN ARTIFICIAL CONTACTING SURFACE
An implantable medical device, for implantation in a mammal knee joint, comprising an artificial contacting surface adapted to replace at least one contacting surface of the knee joint and to be lubricated when implanted in said joint. The medical device further comprises a reservoir comprising a movable wall portion defining the volume of the reservoir, at least one inlet adapted to receive a lubricating fluid from the reservoir, at least one channel at least partly integrated in said artificial contacting surface, wherein the channel is fluidly connected with said at least one inlet for distributing said lubricating fluid to the surface of said artificial contacting surface. The medical device further comprises an operation device adapted to non-invasively transport said lubricating fluid from said reservoir to said artificial contacting surface, and an implantable injection port for refilling said reservoir, wherein the movable wall portion is moved when the reservoir is refilled, such that the volume of the reservoir is increased.
Implantable medical device for lubricating an artificial contacting surface
An implantable medical device for implantation in a mammal joint having at least two contacting surfaces is provided. The medical device comprises; an artificial contacting surface adapted to replace at least the surface of at least one of the mammal's joint contacting surfaces, wherein the artificial contacting surface is adapted to be lubricated, when implanted in said joint. Furthermore the medical device comprises at least one inlet adapted to receive a lubricating fluid from a reservoir, at least one channel at least partly integrated in the artificial contacting surface in connection with the at least one inlet for distributing the lubricating fluid to the surface of the artificial contacting surface. The medical device could be adapted to be operable by an operation device to receive the distributed lubricated fluid from a reservoir.
HIP JOINT DEVICE AND METHOD
A medical device for implantation in a hip joint of a patient is provided. The medical device comprises a first and second piece and a releasing member adapted to, in a first state hold the first piece attached to the second piece, and in a second state release the first piece from the second piece. The releasing member is adapted to change from the first state to the second state when a pre-determined strain is placed on the releasing member.
Hip joint instrument and method
A surgical instrument for operating hip joint osteoarthritis in a human patient is provided. The hip joint comprises an acetabulum, being a part of the pelvic bone, and a caput femur, being the proximal part of the femoral bone. The surgical instrument is adapted to assist in the operating of the hip joint osteoarthritis from the abdominal side of the pelvic bone of said human patient.
Hip Joint Method
A surgical and a laparoscopic/arthroscopic method for operating hip osteoarthritis using an instrument that is adapted to create a through-going hole placed in the acetabulum area from the abdominal side of the pelvic bone of the human patient. The instrument comprises: a driving member, a bone contacting organ in connection with said driving member, an operating device adapted to operate said driving member. The bone contacting organ is adapted to create a hole in the acetabulum area starting from the abdominal side of the pelvic bone through repetitive or continuous movement.
