Prosthesis cosmetic element, and system consisting of prosthesis cosmetic element and prosthesis
A prosthesis cosmetic element for a prosthesis comprising a prosthesis joint which has an upper part and a lower part that is mounted thereon in a pivotal manner about a pivot axis, the prosthesis cosmetic element has a first frame part, which has at least one first securing device for fixing on the lower part, and a second frame part with at least one second securing device for securing on the upper part. The frame parts are mounted in a pivotal manner relative to each other, and the prosthesis joint is equipped with a rotational element on which an actuating element is arranged. The actuating element is accessible from the outside by a frame part or through a frame part.
ARM PROSTHETIC DEVICE
A system for powering a prosthetic arm is disclosed. The system includes at least one internal battery located in the prosthetic arm, at least one external battery connected to the prosthetic arm, and a master controller configured to connect either the at least one internal battery or the at least one external battery to a power bus to power the prosthetic arm.
Powered Prosthetic Flexion Device
Technology is described to provide a powered prosthetic wrist flexion device or elbow device. This device helps individuals with upper-limb loss to orient and position grasped objects.
SYSTEM FOR CONTROL OF A PROSTHETIC DEVICE
A control system for control of a prosthetic device having a plurality of actuators receives an orientation signal indicative of a desired movement. The control system evaluates whether the prosthetic device may move as desired with a current angle of rotation and commands at least one actuator to move the prosthetic device as desired by maintaining the current angle of rotation or by adjusting the angle of rotation if the prosthetic device cannot move as desired with the current angle. The control system may alternate between commanding a first subset of actuators and a second subset of actuators each time the orientation signal is indicative of a neutral position. The control system may include a position sensor and a compliance sensor and may command at least one actuator based on a combination of positional control using the position sensor and force control using the compliance sensor.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR APPROXIMATING MUSCULOSKELETAL DYNAMICS
An approximation method and system are provided for more quickly controlling a prosthetic or other device by reducing computational processing time in a muscle model that can be used to control the prosthetic. For a given muscle, the approximation method can quickly compute polynomial structures for a muscle length and for each associated moment arms, which may be used to generate a torque for a joint position of a physics model. The physics model, in turn, produces a next joint position and velocity data for driving a prosthetic. The approximation method expands the polynomial structures as long as expansion is possible and sufficiently beneficial. The computations canbe performed quickly by expanding the polynomial structures in a way that constrains the muscle length polynomial to the moment arm polynomial structures, and vice versa.
ELECTROMYOGRAPHIC CONTROL SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR THE COACHING OF EXOPROSTHETIC USERS
Systems and methods are described for the coaching of users through successful calibration of a myoelectric prosthetic controller. The systems and methods are comprised of, and/or utilize, hardware and software components to input and analyze electromyography (EMG) based signals in association with movements, and to calibrate and output feedback about the signals. The hardware is further comprised of an apparatus for the detection of EMG signals, a prosthesis, an indicator, and a user interface. The software is further comprised of a user interface, a pattern recognition component, a calibration procedure, and a feedback mechanism. The systems and methods facilitate calibration of a myoelectric controller and provides the user with feedback about the calibration including information of the signal inputs and outputs, and messages about connected hardware and how to optimize signal data.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR APPROXIMATING MUSCULOSKELETAL DYNAMICS
A system and method for controlling a device, such as a virtual reality (VR) and/or a prosthetic limb are provided. A biomimetic controller of the system comprises a signal processor and a musculoskeletal model. The signal processor processes M biological signals received from a residual limb to transform the M biological signals into N activation signals, where M and N are integers and M is less than N. The musculoskeletal model transforms the N activation signals into intended motion signals. A prosthesis controller transforms the intended motion signals into three or more control signals that are outputted from an output port of the prosthesis controller. A controlled device receives the control signals and performs one or more tasks in accordance with the control signals.
ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED PROSTHETIC SYSTEM
A prosthetic joint system for users comprising a housing having an interior cavity, a center axis in said interior cavity, and an attachment means for fixedly connecting said housing to said user; an inner cylinder disposed in said housing interior cavity wherein said inner cylinder rotates around said center axis of said housing; an appendage attached to said inner cylinder; a sensor system attached to said appendage; and a dampening system, having a power source, in communication with said sensor system, said inner cylinder, and said housing for controlling dampening of the rotation of said inner cylinder around said center axis of said housing.
MANAGEMENT OF WIRELESS TRANSMISSION RATE OF CONTROL SIGNALS FOR POWER ASSISTIVE DEVICES
A system and method for transmission of a signal for a powered assistive device has a sensor node with a wireless transmitter adapted for digitally transmitting a transmitted signal, the sensor node adapted for receiving and monitoring a sensor signal from a sensor attached to a user, and a master node with a controller and a wireless receiver for receiving the transmitted signal from the wireless transmitter. The master node processes the transmitted signal and communicates a control signal to the powered assistive device. The wireless transmitter transmits the transmitted signal at a first rate when the wireless transmitter adapted to transmit the transmitted signal at a first rate when the sensor signal is indicative of the rest state and to transmit the transmitted signal at a second rate when the sensor signal is indicative of the active state, the second rate being greater than the first rate.
