Orthopedic device
An orthopedic device with a hydraulic damping device, a valve with a valve seat and a valve body that is subjected to a closing force. The closing force is applied via a valve spring that is pre-loaded towards the valve seat. A fluid connection between the hydraulic damping device and the valve seat is provided. The valve features an adjustment device for adjusting the preload of the valve spring.
Hand-held electromechanical surgical system
A hand-held electromechanical surgical device is configured to selectively connect with a surgical accessory. The surgical device includes a power-pack, an outer shell housing, and a gasket. The power-pack is configured to selectively control a surgical accessory. The outer shell housing includes a distal half-section and a proximal half-section, the distal half-section and the proximal half-section together defining a cavity configured to selectively encase substantially the entire power-pack therein. The gasket is located between the distal half-section and the proximal half-section of the outer shell housing. The gasket is configured to create a seal between the distal half-section and the proximal half-section and to provide a sterile barrier between the power-pack and an outside environment outside the outer shell housing.
COUPLING DEVICE FOR PROSTHESIS
A coupling device, for connecting at least one first prosthetic part with at least one second prosthetic part of which at least one of the prosthetic parts is provided with, alternatively is suitable to be provided with, cosmetics. The coupling device comprises at least one first coupling part and at least one second coupling part which are suitable for connection to each other and in a connected position are temporarily locked to each other with at least one locking device. The coupling parts are disengaged from each other with at least one disengaging device. The first coupling part comprises at least one first holder for cosmetics and the second coupling part comprises at least one second holder for cosmetics. The cosmetics are attached to, alternatively integrated with, at least one of the first holder for cosmetics and the second holder for cosmetics.

APPARATUS FOR PROSTHETIC LEG VACUUM UNIT BATTERY RECHARGING
A mechanism to harvest the mechanical energy available during prosthetic leg use for the purpose of charging an electric battery operating a vacuum pump for a prosthetic leg residual limb mounting socket is disclosed. The present invention is intended to be applied with variations of leg prostheses equipped with prosthetic feet constructed with flexible heel and/or forefoot members in the sole. The present invention utilizes one or more electric generators to convert the mechanical energy occurring as bidirectional movement in the foot sole flexible members to electrical energy. The electrical energy is harvested by storage in capacitors, then subsequently used to charge the vacuum pump battery. The objective is to extend the useful operating time of the vacuum pump supporting vacuum socket mounting of the residual limb.
Prosthetic and orthotic devices and methods and systems for controlling the same
Prosthetic and/or orthotic devices (PODS), control systems for PODS and methods for controlling PODS are provided. As part of the control system, an inference layer collects data regarding a vertical and horizontal displacement of the POD, as well as an angle of the POD with respect to gravity during a gait cycle of a user of the POD. A processor analyzes the data collected to determine a locomotion activity of the user and selects one or more control parameters based on the locomotion activity. The inference layer may be situated between a reactive layer control module and a learning layer control module of the control system architecture.
SUPPLY SYSTEM FOR ORTHOPAEDIC TECHNOLOGY COMPONENTS AND METHOD
A supply system for at least one orthopedic technology component, which has at least one electronic and/or electrical device and has a supply connection and/or a radio device for receiving data and/or electrical energy. The supply system also includes a holder for the orthopedic technology component, which has a supply device, and which is compatible with the supply connection and/or the radio device, for supplying the orthopedic technology component with data and/or energy. The invention further relates to a system consisting of a supply system and an orthopedic technology device, and to a method for supplying the system with data and/or energy.
LIGHT WEIGHT, MODULAR, POWERED, TRANSFEMORAL PROSTHESIS
In an embodiment, a prosthetic leg including a modular knee element coupled to a modular ankle element. The modular knee element includes a knee motor rotatable about an axis of a shaft in the knee motor. The modular ankle element includes a drive portion coupled to a surface-contacting portion via a pylon having a top and bottom end. The top end is coupled to the drive portion and the bottom end is coupled to the surface-contacting portion. The drive portion includes an ankle motor coupled to a rotary series elastic actuator (RSEA) and a first pulley coupled to the RSEA. The surface-contacting portion includes a hinge and a second pulley with a belt engaging at least a portion of at least one of the first and second pulley, and a modular foot element coupled to the bottom of the hinge.
