Socket-suspension monitoring system for amputees
A continuous socket/suspension monitoring system according to principles of the present invention tracks relative displacement between amputee residuum and their socket using magnetic sensors. The system includes at least one magnetic sensor in a liner worn on the amputees' residuum which correspond to sensors provide in or on the prosthesis socket. The system allows for monitoring of pistoning continuously during locomotion and does not require socket modification, is safe to amputee patients, is easy to use, and is low cost.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROSTHETIC WRIST ROTATION
Features for a prosthetic wrist and associated methods are described. The wrist couples with a prosthetic socket and a prosthetic hand. The wrist may rotate the hand. The wrist includes features to prevent or mitigate undesirable separation of the wrist from the socket. The wrist may have an expanding coupling, such as an expanding ring, to better secure the wrist with the socket. An actuator may cause the coupling to expand outward to prevent or mitigate undesirable separation of the wrist from the socket. Alternatively or in addition, the wrist may include torque control features to prevent undesirable or premature separation of the hand from the wrist, for example when using a “quick wrist disconnect” (QWD) apparatus. A torque control method may tailor or limit multiple torques to be applied by the wrist to the hand based on operational requirements and phases, such as anticipated torque loads and operational timing.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONTROL OF A PROSTHETIC
A prosthetic device control apparatus includes at least one sensor worn by a user. The sensor(s) determines a user's movement. A control module is in communication with the sensor(s). The control module communicates movement information to a prosthetic. A method for controlling a prosthetic device includes sensing a user's movement, communicating the movement through a control module to a prosthetic device; and controlling the movement of a prosthetic device.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CONSTRUCTING A PROSTHESIS
The invention relates to a method for carrying out a prosthesis set-up, wherein multiple components are arranged close to each other, the method comprising the a) providing at least one marking on each of the at least one components, b) arranging various components close to each other, c) detecting a position and/or an orientation of the at least one marking of the closely arranged components by means of at least one optical sensor, d) determining the actual position and/or the actual orientation of the closely arranged components relative to one another using the detected position and/or orientation of the at least one marking, and e) comparing the determined actual position and/or actual orientation with a target position and/or target orientation.
System, method and apparatus for orientation control
A system for control of a device includes at least one sensor module detecting orientation of a user's body part. The at least one sensor module is in communication with a device module configured to command an associated device. The at least one sensor module detects orientation of the body part. The at least one sensor module sends output signals related to orientation of the user's body part to the device module and the device module controls the associated device based on the signals from the at least one sensor module.
PROSTHETIC AND ORTHOTIC DEVICES AND METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME
Prosthetic and/or orthotic devices (PODS), control systems for PODS and methods for controlling PODS are provided. As part of the control system, an inference layer collects data regarding a vertical and horizontal displacement of the POD, as well as an angle of the POD with respect to gravity during a gait cycle of a user of the POD. A processor analyzes the data collected to determine a locomotion activity of the user and selects one or more control parameters based on the locomotion activity. The inference layer may be situated between a reactive layer control module and a learning layer control module of the control system architecture.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING PORTIONS OF A PROSTHETIC SOCKET AND KIT
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing or for planning the manufacturing of a prosthetic shaft, of an inner shaft of an outer shaft and/or of an extension of the prosthetic shaft, wherein the prosthetic shaft is provided for receiving a limb stump of a patient. In addition, the present invention relates to a prosthetic shaft and a kit. Furthermore, a computing system, a digital storage medium, a computer program product as well as a computer program are proposed.
METHOD FOR CONTROLLING A PROSTHESIS OR ORTHESIS
The invention relates to a method for controlling a prosthesis or orthesis of the lower extremity, the prosthesis or orthesis comprising an upper part (10) and a lower part (20) which is connected to the upper part (10) via a knee joint and is mounted so as to be pivotable relative to the upper part (10) about a joint pin (15); wherein an adjustable resistance device (40) is situated between the upper part (10) and the lower part (20), by means of which resistance device a resistance (Rf) is modified on the basis of sensor data; wherein state information is detected by sensors, a cyclical movement different from walking is determined and the resistance (Rf) is adjusted to a low level during the cyclical movement; wherein determining the cyclical movement comprises the following steps: a. detecting the flexion angle (α.sub.K) and at least one absolute angle (αS) of the lower part (20) and/or the upper part (10) over at least one movement cycle, b. identifying the cyclical movement from the relative movement of the upper part (10) and the lower part (20) and the absolute movements of the upper part (10) and/or the lower part (20) in space.
