The systems and methods described herein support efficient SDM operation in IAB networks. A first node receives a semi-static resource allocation from a CU based on at least one multiplexing capability of the first node. The first node communicates with a second node based on the semi-static resource allocation. The first node also transmits a change request to the CU to modify the semi-static resource allocation, and the first node may communicate with the second node based on the modified semi-static resource allocation. The at least one multiplexing capability includes at least one of SDM or FDM, including full duplex or half duplex. The at least one multiplexing capability is also with respect to one or more transmission direction combinations of the first node.

Methods for Indicating Polarization Capabilities of User Equipment in a Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN)

Embodiments include methods for operating a user equipment (UE) in a non-terrestrial network (NTN) that utilizes one or more polarization modes for serving one or more cells. Such methods include sending, to a network node, an indication of one or more polarization capabilities of the UE. Such methods also include transmitting and/or receiving one or more signals or channels in a first cell of the NTN according to the indicated polarization capabilities of the UE. In some embodiments, the indicated polarization capabilities of the UE include: a UE type; one or more polarization modes supported by the UE; a polarization correspondence between uplink and downlink signals that is supported by the UE; and/or a list of antenna panels supported by the UE and polarization modes supported by the antenna panels. Other embodiments include complementary methods for operating network nodes, and UEs and network nodes configured to perform such methods.

BEAM CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT SERVICE

A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are described in which beam configuration management service is provided. A network device of a wireless access network provides the service that includes identifying redundant configurations across carriers associated with a cell group, and links the common beam configurations to these carriers. The service also includes identifying any difference in beam configurations relative to the common beam configurations for a carrier. The service may transmit this beam configuration information in a control plane message to an end device. The end device may use the beam configuration information.

An access point that determines whether an electronic device has multi-band capability is described. During operation, the access point may receive a packet or a frame associated with the electronic device. For example, the access point may determine that the electronic device has the multi-band capability based at least in part on: an operating class of the electronic device; a model of the electronic device; and/or a vendor of the electronic device. Then, based at least in part on information included in the packet or the frame, the access point may determine whether the electronic device has the multi-band capability. Moreover, the access point may selectively provide a transition recommendation addressed to the electronic device based at least in part on the determined multi-band capability.

Facilitating selection of demodulation reference signal ports in advanced networks

Facilitating selection of demodulation reference signal port combinations in advanced networks (e.g., 4G, 5G, 6G, and beyond) is provided herein. Operations of a system can comprise evaluating a capability of a mobile device. The operations can also comprise assigning a first group of port combinations for the mobile device based on the capability of the mobile device being a first capability and a second group of port combinations for the mobile device based on the capability of the mobile device being a second capability, resulting in a port combination assignment. The port combination assignment can mitigate a peak-to-average power ratio value.
