Methods, systems, and devices are used to implement BFR, SL-RS for BFD, radio link monitoring, or frequency assisted beam failure recovery, among other things.

CRITERIA SELECTION FOR BEAM FAILURE DETECTION
20220399925 · 2022-12-15 ·

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may use the techniques described herein to efficiently detect beam failure. In one aspect, the UE may autonomously select one or more criteria for detecting beam failure. The UE may then perform measurements on beam failure detection reference signals received from the base station and use the selected one or more criteria to detect beam failure. Because the UE may select the one or more criteria without signaling from the base station, control overhead between the UE and the base station may be reduced.

Uplink procedures on a wireless communication medium
11528688 · 2022-12-13 · ·

Techniques for managing uplink communication on a wireless communication medium are disclosed. An access point may transmit and an access terminal may receive an Uplink Control Information (UCI) payload indicator over a downlink channel instructing an access terminal to configure a UCI payload. The access terminal may then transmit and the access point may then receive UCI including the configured UCI payload over an uplink channel in response to the UCI payload indicator.

Reporting overall interference

An interference metric at a specific time instance may differ from interference metrics at different time instances. As a result, any actions based on the interference metric may unduly be influenced by such difference. In some implementations, an apparatus or device reports an overall interference metric that accounts for temporal variations in interference metrics at different time instances. An example method includes measuring, by a user equipment, an interference metric at two or more time instances for wireless signals transmitted by a base station, generating an overall interference metric based on the interference metrics at the two or more time instances, and transmitting, by the user equipment, the overall interference metric to the base station.

Sidelink Beam Reporting

A method for sidelink beam reporting for device to device (D2D) communication includes receiving, by a first electronic device and from a base station, configuration of one or more beam management reference signals (BMRSs) on a sidelink between the first electronic device and a second electronic device and configuration of one or more sidelink random access channels (SL-RACHs), receiving and measuring, by the first electronic device and based on the received configuration of one or more BMRSs, a plurality of BMRSs transmitted by the second electronic device, and transmitting, by the first electronic device and based on the received configuration of one or more SL-RACHs, a SL-RACH to the second electronic device.

UE PANEL COMBINATION-SPECIFIC CORESET CONFIGURATION FOR CELL-FREE MASSIVE MIMO
20220393752 · 2022-12-08 ·

A method of operating a radio network element includes receiving user equipment (UE) capability information indicating panel combinations of a multi panel UE (MP-UE), each including at least one antenna panel from among a plurality of antenna panels of the MP-UE; receiving signal strength information corresponding to plurality of transmission reception points (TRPs); based on the signal strength information, determining a plurality of TRP sets corresponding to the plurality of panel combinations, respectively; and generating a plurality of control resource set (CORESET) configurations corresponding to the plurality of panel combinations, respectively, wherein, for each panel combination, the TRP set corresponding to the panel combination indicates at least one TRP from among the plurality of TRPs, and the CORESET configuration corresponding to the panel combination defines one or more CORESETs to be used by the at least one TRP to provide downlink (DL) transmissions to the MP-UE via the panel combination.

INDICATING BLOCKAGE EVENTS AS A CAUSE FOR CHANGES IN RANK INFORMATION OR CHANNEL QUALITY INFORMATION
20220394506 · 2022-12-08 ·

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a base station, an indication that indicates a blockage event as a cause for a change in one or more of rank information or channel quality information, wherein the blockage event is associated with a differential signal power between a first polarization and a second polarization. The UE may receive, from the base station, a transmission based at least in part on the indication that indicates the blockage event as the cause for the change in one or more of the rank information or the channel quality information. Numerous other aspects are described.

RADIO COEXISTENCE TECHNIQUES FOR PLAYBACK DEVICES
20220394347 · 2022-12-08 ·

The playback device includes a communication interface, an audio amplifier, a processor, and a storage medium. The interface includes a radio configured to communicate in a first frequency range and another radio to communicate in a frequency range that partially overlaps with the first range. The interface can, after determining that an operation is to be performed by one of the radios, obtain a parameter, such as a received signal strength, a spacing between radio antennas, a duty cycle of a radio, or a protocol, power level or priority of the operation. The interface can also determine whether to allow the radio to perform the operation based on the parameter. The medium stores processor-executable instructions to control the playback device, while receiving audio content via a radio, to play back the content using the amplifier, generate a stream based on the content, and transmit the stream to another device.

Beam information feedback method and apparatus, and configuration information feedback method and apparatus

Presented herein are systems and methods for beam information feedback. A first communication node may receive, from a second communication node, a group of reference signals that are carried either on respective beams or on a same beam. The group of reference signals may be determined based on one or more time-frequency-code resources. The first communication node may determine, based on the group of reference signals, one or more beam indexes and channel state information. The first communication node may transmit, to the second communication node, a set including the one or more beam indexes and the channel state information.

Apparatuses and methods for non-linear precoding

Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for non-linear precoding are provided. One method may include combining, by a network node, of linear and non-linear precoding, for example based on specific channel state information acquisition from at least one user equipment, and generating two types of demodulation reference signals for the concatenated linear and non-linear precoding. The method may include multiplexing, by the network node, the two types of demodulation reference signals with data. A first of the two types of demodulation reference signals may be linearly precoded with one linear precoding matrix from a first-stage linear precoder, and another one of the two types may be linearly precoded with both the first-stage linear precoder and a feedforward filter in a second-stage non-linear precoder from the concatenation of linear and nonlinear precoders.
