Synchronization of base station beam switching with channel feedback

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a base station may synchronize a beam switch of the base station with transmission of a reference signal for channel state feedback, and schedule a channel state feedback report to be transmitted after the transmission of the reference signal for channel state feedback. Numerous other aspects are provided.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING WHETHER TO PROVIDE A CSI REPORT

Methods, apparatuses and systems are provided for transmission of a CSI report. A WTRU may receive an aperiodic CSI reporting request on a PDCCH. The WTRU may determine a time gap between a last symbol of the PDCCH of which the aperiodic CSI reporting request is received and a first uplink symbol of a designated uplink channel for transmission of a corresponding aperiodic CSI report. The determination of the time gap may include consideration of a timing advance value. A determination may be made as to whether a time threshold is shorter than the determined time gap. If the determined time gap is not shorter than the time threshold, the WTRU may transmit the CSI report. If the determined time gap is shorter than the threshold, the WTRU may not transmit the CSI report.

A method of reporting, by a user equipment (UE), channel state information (CSI) in a wireless communication system, includes: receiving, by the UE and from a base station (BS), downlink control information (DCI) related to an aperiodic CSI report that is to be performed by the UE in a slot n; determining, by the UE, a value n.sub.CQI_ref based on a number of symbols Z′ related to a time for computing the CSI; determining, by the UE, a CSI reference resource as being a slot n−n.sub.CQI_ref in a time domain that is to be used for the aperiodic CSI report; and transmitting, by the UE and to the BS, the aperiodic CSI report in the slot n, based on the CSI reference resource being slot n−n.sub.CQI_ref. The CSI may be calculated by using the most recent A CSI-RS, and thereby the most recent CSI may be reported.

The method further includes receiving feedback information from the user terminal based on the packet for measuring the channel. The method further includes transmitting the distributed transmission using the beamforming procedure.

METHOD BY WHICH TERMINAL REPORTS STATE INFORMATION IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, AND TERMINAL AND BASE STATION FOR SUPPORTING SAME
20220131583 · 2022-04-28 ·

Disclosed are: a method by which a terminal reports state information, relating to one or more cells from among a plurality of cells set in the terminal, in a wireless communication system including the terminal and a base station having the plurality of cells; and a terminal and a base station for supporting same. According to one embodiment applicable to the present disclosure, a terminal can efficiently report, to a base station, state information related to one or more cells in which beam failure has occurred and, in response thereto, the base station can recognize the beam failure in the one or more cells.

Systems and methods for aperiodic measurement reference signal transmission in multiple antenna systems

Systems and methods are disclosed for determining a first downlink control indicator (DCI) and a second DCI, determining a set of active aperiodic channel state information reference signals (A-CSI-RSs) based on the first DCI, and determining a subset of the set of active A-CSI-RSs based on the second DCI. A WTRU may perform resource element (RE) muting based on a set of active A-CSI-RSs. A WTRU may perform channel state information (CSI) measurement based on a subset of a set of active A-CSI-RSs.

Sounding operations for radio-frequency (RF) sensing

This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for radio frequency (RF) sensing in wireless communication systems. In some implementations, a transmitter device transmits sounding sequences configured for channel estimation over a wireless channel to a receiver device. The transmitter device also transmits or receives non-sounding frames associated with a channel report of the receiver device. The transmitter device transmits a frame soliciting the channel report from the receiver device. The transmitter device receives the channel report, which may include channel state information (CSI) of the wireless channel responsive to at least the sounding sequences. Some types of channel reports may take longer to generate than other types of channel reports. Transmitting or receiving the non-sounding frames during the time period may prevent other devices from accessing the wireless channel when the receiver device needs additional time to generate a certain type of channel report.

Methods and devices for determining suitable transmit directions for beamformed transmission

Methods, devices and computer programs for determining new transmit directions to use for beamformed transmissions in case the link quality of an existing direction falters. A transmitting communication device and a receiving communication device cooperate via a beam tracking procedure to determine a new suitable transmit direction to use for upcoming beamformed transmissions. Information relating to the beam tracking procedure is communicated over an existing link that enables communication between the transmitting and receiving communication devices. The receiving communication device provides the transmitting communication device with information about a beam scan performed in order to detect tracking beams transmitted by the transmitting communication device. This information allows the transmitting communication device to determine suitable transmit directions to use.

MEASUREMENT REPORT PAYLOAD REDUCTION TECHNIQUES

Aspects relate to configuration of a Layer 1 (L1) measurement report. A radio access network (RAN) node (e.g., a base station) can transmit at least one report setting, each associated with a selected information type, to a wireless communication device (e.g., a UE). The selected information type may be selected from a first information type and a second information type. When a report setting is associated with the first information type, the wireless communication device can transmit the L1 measurement report including both beam measurements and beam identifiers corresponding to the beam measurements for the report setting. When the report setting is associated with the second information type, the wireless communication device can exclude the beam identifiers from the L1 measurement report including the beam measurements for the report setting. Other aspects, features, and examples are also claimed and described.
