SOUNDING OPERATIONS FOR RADIO-FREQUENCY (RF) SENSING

This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for radio frequency (RF) sensing in wireless communication systems. In some implementations, a transmitter device transmits sounding sequences configured for channel estimation over a wireless channel to a receiver device. The transmitter device also transmits or receives non-sounding frames associated with a channel report of the receiver device. The transmitter device transmits a frame soliciting the channel report from the receiver device. The transmitter device receives the channel report, which may include channel state information (CSI) of the wireless channel responsive to at least the sounding sequences. Some types of channel reports may take longer to generate than other types of channel reports. Transmitting or receiving the non-sounding frames during the time period may prevent other devices from accessing the wireless channel when the receiver device needs additional time to generate a certain type of channel report.

A method of reporting, by a user equipment (UE), channel state information (CSI) in a wireless communication system, includes: receiving, by the UE and from a base station (BS), downlink control information (DCI) related to an aperiodic CSI report that is to be performed by the UE in a slot n; determining, by the UE, a value n.sub.CQI_ref based on a number of symbols Z related to a time for computing the CSI; determining, by the UE, a CSI reference resource as being a slot nn.sub.CQI_ref in a time domain that is to be used for the aperiodic CSI report; and transmitting, by the UE and to the BS, the aperiodic CSI report in the slot n, based on the CSI reference resource being slot nn.sub.CQI_ref. The CSI may be calculated by using the most recent A CSI-RS, and thereby the most recent CSI may be reported.

Beam management using synchronization signals through channel feedback framework

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. In aspects of the present disclosure, a user equipment (UE) may report metrics (e.g., received signal power, beam identifier) about synchronization signal (SS) beams using the same (e.g., or a similar) framework that is used for channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) reporting. Because SSs are intended to be broadcast across a wide coverage area in a beamformed manner, the SSs represent a promising complement to existing beam management techniques. Accordingly, beam management may be achieved at least in part based on reporting one or more metrics of beamformed SSs through a channel feedback framework.

Example implementations are directed to methods and systems employing a solicited sounding protocol that includes an efficient communication sequence for operating a wireless transceiver transmitting a sounding trigger to one or more beamformees via a forward channel, receiving at least one dedicated training signal from the one or more beamformees via a reverse channel in response to the sounding trigger, and for each of the received dedicated training signal. The method also includes estimating forward CSI derived based on the dedicated training signal from an associated beamformee; and where subsequent packets are precoded with precoding derived from the forward CSI for transmission to the associated beamformee via the forward channel. Example aspects including scheduling multiple dedicated training signals from one or more beamformees based on a single sounding trigger.

TECHNIQUES FOR SELECTING NETWORK PARAMETERS BASED ON FEEDBACK

Techniques are described herein for selecting network parameters based on feedback in a wireless network. An access point (AP) may collect feedback information from a plurality of stations (STAs). The AP may broadcast out queries seeking information to the STAs. The AP may collect statistics about network parameters preferred by the STAs. The AP may select a network parameter based at least in part on collecting the statistics. The AP may collect the statistics without identifying the individual STAs that are responding. The AP may gather responses using a two-message system, where a first message informs the STAs about the feedback being requested and a second message requests that the STAs transmit the feedback to the AP.

Method for reporting channel state in wireless communication system and apparatus therefor

A method by which a terminal reports an aperiodic channel state in a wireless communication system, according to one embodiment of the present invention, comprises the steps of: receiving an aperiodic channel state information (CSI) report request from a base station; and calculating the aperiodic CSI with respect to a CSI to be measured, which is indicated by the aperiodic CSI report request so as to transmit the calculated aperiodic CSI to the base station, wherein the aperiodic CSI report request indicates a report for one of a plurality of aperiodic CSI report sets, and the number of individual CSI reports included in each of the plurality of aperiodic CSI report sets can be independently set according to each aperiodic CSI report set.

Disclosed are a channel status information (CSI) feedback and control method and device. The method comprises: a terminal receives trigger signaling sent by a base station, the trigger signaling being used for instructing the terminal to report CSI obtained within a specified measurement window; and the terminal reports the CSI that is measured by the terminal within the specified measurement window to the base station. Because a terminal reports only CSI that is measured by the terminal within a specified measurement window, the frequency of feeding back CSI by the terminal is reduced, and CSI feedback overheads are also reduced.
