Prosthetic attachment system
A prosthetic attachment system includes an insert arranged for connection to a prosthetic liner, and an attachment unit arranged for connection to a distal end of a prosthetic socket. The attachment unit comprises a body defining an axis and a central opening for selectively receiving the insert. The body carries a plurality of locking elements that are distributed circumferentially about the axis and radially repositionable relative to the axis. A release mechanism is slidably positioned on an outer surface of the body to move the prosthetic attachment system between a locked configuration in which the locking elements are radially repositioned to lock the insert in the central opening of the body and an unlocked configuration in which the insert is released from the central opening.
Protective sleeve for a medical device
Protective sleeve for a medical device having a moveable joint including a tubular assembly comprising a flexible material that satisfies International Organization for Standardization ISO13997 (1999) for a cut resistance of at least ISO level 5. The tubular assembly has a first end portion, a second end portion, and a length extending therebetween. The tubular assembly includes a base member made of the flexible material having an internal surface and an external surface and a reinforcing member made of the flexible material coupled to the base member along the internal surface and the external surface of the base member. The reinforcing member forms a channel at the first end portion. The tubular assembly has an internal cross dimension sized to receive a medical device having a moveable joint therein. The protective sleeve further includes an adjustment member received in the channel to radially adjust the first end portion.
BRIM ATTACHMENT WITH A SEAL ELEMENT FOR A PROSTHETIC SOCKET
A brim attachment for a prosthetic socket includes a cuff section defining an upper portion of the brim attachment and is arranged to extend about and upwardly from a socket opening. The cuff section is configured to move between tensioned and relaxed positions, wherein the tensioned position the cuff section is arranged to fold away from the socket opening, wherein the relaxed position the cuff section is arranged to extend above the socket opening and generally concentric with an outer surface of the socket. An interface section defines a lower portion of the brim attachment and is arranged to extend along a surface of the socket. The brim attachment may include a seal element protruding toward a central axis of the socket.
LINER SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR APPLYING A LINER SYSTEM
The invention relates to a liner system (1) for applying to a limb or a limb stump, with an inner liner (10) comprising an inner side (15) facing the limb or limb stump and an outer side (16) facing away from the limb or limb stump, and an outer liner (20) that comprises an inner side (25) facing the inner liner (10) and an outer side (26) facing away from the inner liner (10) and that is designed to be applied over the inner liner (10), with a sealing element (30) which is designed to be separate from the inner liner (10) and the outer liner (20), for arranging between the outer side (16) of the inner liner (10) and the inner side (25) of the outer liner (20).
PROSTHETIC LINER
A prosthetic liner includes a flexible elongate, generally conical body portion formed from an elastomeric material. The body portion defines an inner surface, an outer surface forming a liner profile between a distal end and a proximal end, and an axis extending between the distal and proximal ends. At least one seal element extends circumferentially about the axis and protrudes radially outward a distance from the liner profile. The at least one seal element has a seal height defined between the liner profile and a radially outward end of the at least one seal element. The seal height varies circumferentially about the axis between a first seal height and a second seal height.
Orthopedic device
The invention relates to an orthopedic device comprising a main part with a first surface which is provided with at least one adhesive region. At least one recess is provided in the main part, said at least one recess being at least partly formed behind the adhesive region and being provided with a pressure and/or suction connection. The first surface is designed to be at least partly suctioned into the recess when negative pressure is applied in the at least one recess and or pushed out when positive pressure is applied.
3D printed prosthetic socket for residual limb
The invention is a 3D printed prosthetic socket for a residual limb consisting of a 3D printed shell. The 3D printed prosthetic socket comprises a distal end adapted for linking the interconnecting adapter of the socket and a proximal end with an opening adapted for inserting the limb. The 3D printed shell comprises a first housing of the socket comprising an inner wall and an outer wall, wherein the first housing of the socket comprises a rigid region having, in the direction perpendicular to the inner wall, the rigidity of the rigid region and an elastic region having, in the direction perpendicular to the inner wall the rigidity of the elastic region. The rigidity of the elastic region is smaller than the rigidity of the rigid region, wherein the elastic region comprises a set of shaped openings and is adapted for softening the contact of the residual lower limb with the prosthetic socket, wherein the 3D printed shell is made of a single 3D printed part.
ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING TECHNIQUES FOR A SOCKET AND LINER COMBINATION DEVICE
A prosthetic assembly includes a socket and a liner. The socket includes a first interlocking feature and defines an inner volume. The liner includes a second interlocking feature. The first interlocking feature and the second interlocking feature are configured to engage each other when the liner is inserted into the inner volume of the socket. The liner is configured to receive a distal limb of a patient. At least one of the socket or the liner include inner voids extending within walls of the socket or the liner.
PROSTHETIC ASSEMBLY HAVING AN ELECTRODE INTERFACE FOR RECORDING MUSCLE ACTIVITY
An electrode interface is provided to measure muscle activity in a prosthetic assembly including a prosthetic liner and a prosthetic socket. The interface includes an electrode secured to the prosthetic liner and an electrical conduit arranged to transfer an electrical potential from the interior side of the prosthetic liner to the exterior side of the prosthetic liner. The electrode may be a stretchable conductive textile and the electrical conduit is arranged to transfer an electrical potential from a user's skin surface to a dome electrode secured to the prosthetic socket to provide electrical contact with the conductive textile and relay signals to an amplifier.
Adjustable seal system, seal component and method for using the same
An adjustable seal system, seal component for use in the system, and method are provided for forming a sealing interface between a residual limb and a prosthetic socket. The seal component is selectively placed over the outer surface of a suspension liner including a plurality of seal bands, which the seal component may removably and securely engage.
