Porous prosthetic sleeve liner material
A material that can be formed into a porous prosthetic sleeve liner that provides particularly useful benefits for prosthetics. The material is breathable and sweat-absorbing, thus minimizing skin morbidity when used as a prosthetic liner. The material can include hydrophilic-lined continuous pores within a hydrophobic polymer, wherein the hydrophilic lining is crosslinked together with the hydrophobic polymer via non-degradable covalent interactions using chain crosslinkers.
Adjustable seal system, seal component and method for using the same
An adjustable seal system, seal component for use in the system, and method are provided for forming a sealing interface between a residual limb and a prosthetic socket. The seal component is selectively placed over the outer surface of a suspension liner including a plurality of seal bands, which the seal component may removably and securely engage.
Prosthesis Heating Apparatus
A prosthesis heating apparatus for warming the entire prosthesis to prevent the prosthesis from withdrawing heat from the wearer's body, in particular, from withdrawing body heat from the bone to which the prosthesis is attached. The prosthetic heating apparatus can use cyclical timer switch or the disclosed dual switched circuit for turning an electric device on and off at set intervals.
VENTILATED PROSTHETIC LINER
A prosthetic liner has a ventilated structure communicating with an interior volume to an exterior of the prosthetic liner, thereby permitting a transfer of air and moisture therebetween. The prosthetic liner includes a facing layer defining a periphery of at least part of the interior volume of the liner, and forming a plurality of apertures extending therethrough. A cushion layer is juxtaposed to the facing layer and forms a lattice structure including a plurality of interstices in communication with the apertures of the facing layer.
ATHLETIC SOCK
Aspects herein are directed to a knit sock having a leg portion and an integrally knit ankle welt extending around a circumference of the leg portion and positioned at a lower end of the leg portion. The knit sock further includes an integrally knit tab located at a back aspect of the ankle welt.
Knitted-fabric part for orthopedic and prosthetic devices
A knitted-fabric part including a basic part knitted with at least one knitted-fabric thread, and at least one extension part attached to the basic part to form a contiguous and intact structure. At least one unravelable connecting thread attaches the basic part to the at least one extension part, such that removal of the at least one unravelable connecting thread separates the basic part from the at least one extension part.
ACOUSTIC MUFFLER SOCK FOR PROSTHETIC DEVICE LINER OR PROSTHETIC DEVICE
An acoustic muffler sock for use with a prosthetic device liner or with a socket of a prosthetic device includes a first sock opening at one end and sound absorbing material designed to inhibit noises that are often created from the liner/amputated limb interaction. The acoustic muffler sock is configured to be positioned over the liner before the liner and the acoustic muffler sock thereon is inserted into the socket for the prosthetic device. The acoustic muffler sock may further comprise a sound barrier material. The muffler can also be part of a sock that goes over the prosthetic device.
SEAL AND SUSPENSION LINER FOR A PROSTHESIS
A seal (24) for a suspension liner (30) comprises a tubular substrate having an axis and a plurality of fins (26) projecting radially from the substrate. The tubular substrate has an axis and the fins (26) nm reciprocate axially as they nm peripherally around the substrate. The seal (26) may be mounted on the suspension (30) liner or fins may be integrally formed on the outer surface of the liner.
ADJUSTABLE OVERLAYING LINER-PROSTHESIS INTERFACE AND CORRESPONDING METHOD
An adjustable overlaying interface for adjusting a prosthesis to a liner worn over a residual limb of a user comprises a sleeve, an inflatable bladder and a fluid-providing device. The variations in volume of the residual limb is compensated by using the fluid-providing device to inflate and/or deflate the inflatable bladder. A kit for adjusting the prosthesis to the residual limb comprises a liner and the adjustable overlaying interface. A method for mounting the prosthesis to the residual limb of a user comprises installing the adjustable overlaying interface over a liner donned over the residual limb of the user, at least partially inserting the residual limb wearing the liner and the adjustable overlaying interface within a socket of the prosthesis and inflating or deflating the inflatable bladder of the adjustable overlay interface to compensate variations in volume of the residual limb.
