ADAPTIVE ARM SUPPORT SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR USE
A system is provided for supporting an arm of a user that includes a harness configured to be worn by the user, and an arm support coupled to the harness and including an arm rest to support an arm of the user. The arm support is configured to accommodate and follow movement of the arm without substantially interfering in such movement. The arm support may at least partially offset a gravitational force acting on the arm as the user moves and the arm support follows the movement of the user's arm. For example, the arm support may transfer at least a portion of the weight of the user's arm to the torso or other region of the user's body and/or may apply an opposing force to at least partially offset the gravitational force acting on the arm.
A BRACE FOR MANAGEMENT OF AN ANATOMICAL STRUCTURE; AND APPLICATIONS THEREOF
Disclosed is a brace for management of an injured part of an anatomical structure. The brace comprises a proximal part extending from a proximal joint end towards a proximal free end along a proximal axis. The brace comprises a proximal fixation configured for supporting a proximal anatomical structure. The proximal part at the proximal joint end interacting via a brace joint with a distal part extending from a distal joint end towards an opposite a distal free end along a distal axis. The proximal part and the distal part are operatively connected via the brace joint. Also disclosed is a brace and a method of measuring a threshold injury force on an anatomical structure.
Connection device and joint device for an orthopedic device

The connection device includes a first swivel element for arranging on the first component and a second swivel element for arranging on the second component. The first adjustment element is arranged on the first swivel element the adjustment element having a first contact surface. The second swivel element has a second contact surface, wherein the first swivel element is arranged on the second swivel element such that it can be swivelled about a swivel axis, and the first adjustment element is arranged and designed in such a way that the first contact surface lies flat on the second contact surface.
CUSTOMIZABLE KNEE BRACE INTENDED FOR PATIENTS WITH OSTEOARTHRITIS
A customizable knee brace for use in the treatment of osteoarthritis is provided. The customizable knee brace includes a lateral upright. The lateral upright includes at least a first semi-rigid support, a second semi-rigid support, and a hinge physically coupling the first semi-rigid support and the second semi-rigid support. The customizable knee brace further includes a thigh cuff constructed of formable material and coupled to the first semi-rigid support. The customizable knee brace further includes a shin cuff constructed of formable material and coupled to the second semi-rigid support. The customizable knee brace further includes an elastomeric web framework coupled to the lateral upright and configured to secure an area of a knee of a patient when wearing the customizable knee brace. The customizable knee brace further includes at least one tensioning element configured to adjust a tension of the elastomeric web framework.
Adjustable knee brace
A knee brace with an articulation assembly connectable with a first cuff movable with respect to the articulation assembly about a first location defining a first pivot axis between the first cuff and articulation assembly, and movable about a second location defining a first rotation axis between the first cuff and articulation assembly. The knee brace may have a second cuff connectable with the articulation assembly and movable with respect to the articulation assembly about a third location defining a second pivot axis between the second cuff and articulation assembly. The second cuff is movable about a fourth location defining a second rotation axis between the second cuff and articulation assembly. The first pivot axis and first rotation axis may intersect each other or be offset from intersecting each other, the second pivot axis and second rotation axis may intersect each other or be offset from intersecting.
CONNECTION DEVICE AND JOINT DEVICE FOR AN ORTHOPEDIC DEVICE
A connection device for connecting a first component to a second component of an orthopedic device.
JOINT DEVICE
A joint device of an orthosis with an upper part and with a lower part that is arranged on the upper part in an articulated manner, with a first fastening device for securing the upper part to a patient and a second fastening device for securing the lower part to a limb, wherein the joint device connects the upper part to the lower part in an articulated manner and has an upper part binding and a lower part binding via which the upper part and the lower part can be secured to the fastening devices, wherein the joint device has at least four degrees of freedom.
BRACE AND TENSION SPRINGS FOR A BRACE
A brace for augmenting movement of a user's limb about a joint includes an upper arm having an engaging portion for engaging against the user's limb above the joint, and an attachment portion, a lower arm having an engaging portion for engaging against the user's limb below the joint, and an attachment portion, the lower arm being pivotable relative to the upper arm, at least one compression element disposed in fixed relation to at least one of the upper and lower arms, and a substantially inelastic tensioning element affixed to the other of the upper and lower arms over at least one tensioning element tensioning member such that a user applies a force to move the brace to a loaded position in which the at least one compression element is loaded and upon removal of the applied force the at least one compression element applies a restoring force to urge the brace out of the loaded position, the at least one compression element comprising a hydraulic tension spring disposed in fixed relation to at least the other of the upper and lower arms, comprising a pair of cylinders mounted within a frame, each cylinder having a sealed portion defining a liquid containment space, for each of the pair of cylinders, a piston comprising a piston rod, the piston rod comprising a compressing portion having a smaller diameter than the cylinder and extending axially through a hydraulic seal into the liquid containment space, and an external portion accessible from outside the liquid containment space, one of the cylinder and the piston being fixed relative to the frame and the other of the cylinder and the piston being movable axially relative to the frame, a guide for maintaining the movable one of the cylinder and the piston oriented axially relative to the frame, and a compression element tensioning member bearing against the movable one of the at least one cylinder and the piston, for compressing the at least one cylinder relative to the piston, whereby when the frame is fixed in place and tension is applied to the tensioning element tensioning member, the compressing portions of the piston rods intrude further into the liquid containment space, compressing the hydraulic fluid and loading the spring.
