A versatile orthopedic device is arranged to convert between ligament and osteoarthritis treatment, and to accommodate a variety of leg anatomies. The orthopedic device is preferably configured as a double-upright brace indicating struts, frame component sections and associated hinges preferably intended to be along both medial and lateral sides of a wearer's leg. A strap kit with an unloading strap system may be added to the orthopedic device for conversion into an orthopedic device for osteoarthritis relief.

Body wearable brace

A body wearable brace, e.g. for resisting involuntary motion, adapted for allowing a user wearing the brace on his arm to dynamically move his or her upper arm, forearm, wrist and hand, comprising: an upper arm piece; a hand piece; an elbow flexion-extension joint that is rotatable relative to the upper arm piece around a first axis of rotation; a forearm pronation-supination joint that is rotatable relative to the forearm pronation-supination joint and the elbow flexion-extension joint around a second axis of rotation; an extension element extendable in a longitudinal direction; a wrist flexion-extension joint that is rotatable around a third axis of rotation. A first portion of the wrist flexion-extension joint is directly or indirectly connected to the extension element, and a second portion of the wrist flexion-extension joint is directly or indirectly connected to the hand piece.

A smart brace is configured to be worn on a limb over the joint and includes a sensor that gathers data related to motion. The sensor can be included in a hinge assembly of the smart brace. The hinge assembly can include a first gear and a first bar and a second gear and a second bar. The first gear can be meshingly engaged with the second gear such that rotation of one causes corresponding rotation of the other. The first bar and the second bar are configured in size and shape to be flexible in a frontal plane and rigid in a sagittal plane. An end of the first bar and an end of the second bar can be received within corresponding recesses of the first gear and the second gear.

Device for supporting at least one arm of a user, and headrest

The invention relates to a device for supporting at least one arm of a user, with at least one arm support element with a spacer element and an arm shell for mounting on the upper arm, at least one passive actuator which is configured to apply a force to the arm support element, and at least one counter bearing for the force to be applied that comprises at least one force transmission element and a counter bearing element, wherein the spacer element is arranged on the at least one force transmission element such that it can be swivelled, a headrest with at least one shoulder element and at least one support element that is arranged on the at least one shoulder element, wherein the headrest is designed to support the user's head.

MODULAR SEMI-ACTIVE JOINT EXOSKELETON

Systems, methods, and apparatus provide an artificial knee. Such artificial knees may include a thigh link configured to move in unison with a thigh of the person, a shank link configured to be rotatably coupled to the thigh link, and a compression spring rotatably coupled to the thigh link at a first end and coupled to the shank link at a second end. The compression spring is configured to provide an extension torque between the thigh link and the shank link during a first range of motion of the thigh link and the shank link relative to each other. The compression spring is configured to provide a flexion torque between the thigh link and the shank link during a second range of motion of the thigh link and the shank link relative to each other.

Power Assistive Device For Hand Rehabilitation And A Method of Using The Same

A power assistive device for hand rehabilitation that provides training of a combined movement of finger flexion-extension and forearm supination-pronation to a user. The power assistive device includes a hand brace and a base. The hand brace includes finger assemblies that adjustably connect to a platform, actuators that connect to the finger assemblies, and strain gauge sensors that connect to the finger assemblies and detect force signals generated by movement of the finger assemblies. The base removably connects to the hand brace and includes a forearm support, a C-shaped ring that includes C-shaped tracks formed along an inner circumferential surface of the C-shaped ring, a rotatable platform that moves along the C-shaped tracks, a mounting platform that connects to the rotatable platform, and an electromyography (EMG) sensor that attaches to the forearm of the user and senses EMG signals generated by movement of the hand of the user.

VIBRATORY UNLOADING KNEE BRACE FOR KNEE OSTEOARTHRITIS

A knee device and method of stimulating muscles is disclosed. The knee device includes a knee brace with a support frame and vibration components. The vibration components are connected to the support frame by adjustable arms that allow for precise adjustments in the spatial position and orientation of the vibration components. The vibration components can be activated by the ambulation of a user.
